Catch live virtual concerts, weekly broadcasts, and dive into online content from Houston’s own River Oaks Chamber Orchestra (ROCO).
While live, in-person performances are put on hold across the city, ROCO is busy rolling out a schedule of virtual events, including live streamed concerts, past performances featuring the full orchestra, weekly broadcasts, and an online content library brimming with past concerts and educational content for families.
Live Streams & Weekly Broadcasts
In collaboration with Holocaust Museum Houston, ROCO recently debuted a moving chamber performance entitled “We Were the Music”, in honor of Holocaust survivors.
The performance features world premieres by Bruce Adolphe and local composer Isabelle Ganz, as well as music of Jewish composers, performed by ROCO musicians Alecia Lawyer on oboe, Richard Belcher on cello, and Mei Rui on piano. You can view the full performance on their Facebook page, and be sure to check back for future live streamed concerts.
In addition to that, ROCO will also be doing weekly broadcasts of past live streamed full orchestra performances from their In Concert series every Sunday at 2pm.
Get started on Sunday, March 29, 2020 with a broadcast of their past performance, “Queen of Hearts”, which features a program of works by women composers.
