Tour the historic 28,000 square-foot, restored estate of a powerful Texas family at the Moody Mansion.

Located approximately 40 minutes from Houston in the heart of Galveston, visitors can check out this house museum which commemorates the Moody family legacy.

Completed in 1895, W.L Moody Jr. bought the home from the heirs of the original owners soon after the great hurricane of 1900 and the house actually remained the personal home for Moody family members until 1986.

Placed on the National Register of Historic Places, today, visitors can tour 20 rooms of the four-story home which are filled with the original furnishings and personal effects of the family.
