  • The Riot Comedy Show presents Ed Hill at Rudyard’s British Pub | Friday, April 29 & Saturday, April 30 – Known for his recent Amazon Prime comedy special Candy and Smiley, Ed Hill brings the laughs to the upstairs stage in Montrose. $15 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • HTX Whiskey Weekend at City Place | Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1 – Neat or on the rocks? Either way, this first ever event brings together some of the best talents in the Texas whiskey and culinary scene with special events throughout the weekend, including tastings, food pairings, live music, and more in Spring. Times vary.
  • Comedian Benji Brown at Houston Improv | Friday, April 29 to Sunday, May 1 – A frequent guest to the Rickey Smiley Morning Show and one of the hilarious comics to join Martin Lawrence’s Lit AF Tour, Benji Brown stops by West Houston’s Improv for three nights of his side-splitting sets. Tickets are sold by the table; $40 for 2 and up. Times vary.

  • Happy Hour Thursday at MFAH | No cover – Explore the MFAH campus, visit the galleries, and enjoy get a drink at the bar and dine on food truck bites. 5pm to 8pm.
  • Millennials after Dark at Clé Houston – MAD is celebrating the first anniversary of their networking events with an indoor and poolside party featuring happy hour specials, photo opportunities, music from DJ Houston Millennial, and more. Free until 7:15pm; $20 and up after. 6pm to 9pm. 
  • Bingo at No Label Brewing Company | No Cover – Bingo, 30 taps of local craft brew, and grub from the Backyard Grill on Wheels food truck are the makings of a fun evening in Katy. 6:30pm to 9pm.
  • Ingenious Lotería at Ingenious Brewing Company | No Cover – It’s the return of Lotería, or “Mexican bingo,” where guests can play for a chance to win prizes while enjoying Thursday Ladies’ Night drink specials. 7pm.
  • Darden Smith in Concert at Redbud Gallery | FREE – In conjunction with his Western Skies exhibition at the Heights gallery, Smith will perform music and recite poetry about his experiences in West Texas. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Couples Therapy with Alan Adams at Houston Improv – Hosted by club fav Alan Adams, this relationship-fueled comedy show will find the comedian delivering his views on relationships with quick-fire wit, stone-faced delivery, and sarcastically venomous punch-lines. Tables start at $20 for 2 people. 7:30pm.
  • Death Cab for Cutie in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The indie rock band enters their 25th year of playing, swinging through Post HTX’s music venue in Downtown to perform songs from their latest album, Thank You for Today, and other fan faves. $30 and up. 8pm.
  • Comedian Kerryn Feehan at the Secret Group – Known for her stints on Comedy Central, TLC, and TruTV, the comedian, actress, and writer Kerryn Feehan takes the stage in Downtown Houston. $20 and up. 8pm.
  • Penny & Sparrow in Concert at the Heights Theater – Full of chamber folk with electronic beats and R&B grooves, the Austin duo brings their latest material from the 2021 album, Olly Olly. $22 and up. 8pm.
  • Um in Concert at Stereo Live – The loud, intense and eclectic rock band Um takes the take in West Houston. 10pm to 2am.

  • Blues, Brews & Barbecue at Wicklow Heights – Enjoy all-you-can-eat barbecue, multiple bands live on stage, games, and entertainment, all to benefit Houston Area Parkinson Society. $75. Noon to 4pm. 
  • Beach Club Sunday at Sekai Night & Day – Lounge poolside at the EaDo lounge’s outdoor pool, enjoying drinks, brunch, and more. Noon to 8pm.
  • Sunday Funday: Radio Duran at Rise Rooftop | FREE with RSVP – Take in a live tribute to ’80s new wave band Duran Duran, along with tributes to Blondie and Joan Jett. 3pm.
  • Don Julio Classic at Houston Polo Club – Enjoy a world-class polo match complete with live music, a player parade, expert announcing, a Champagne divot stomp at halftime, a special trophy presentation, and door prizes from Don Julio. $32.50; $15.50 for ages 12 and under. Boxes range from $89 to $895. 5pm.
  • 8th Wonder Comedy Hour at the Secret Group – Bust a gut to a power hour of the city’s best comedians, hosted by MyKal Dédé and featuring dark and edgy material from Houston’s own Alan Adams, Dusti Rhodes, De De T, Michael Vargas, Will Loden and Ben Daniel. $8, includes an 8th Wonder beer; $10 includes a souvenir take-home glass. 6pm.
  • James Arthur, with Nina Nesbitt in Concert at House of Blues – English singer-songwriter James Arthur brings his It’ll All Make Sense tour to Downtown Houston, with Scottish singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt opening. $29.50 and up. 7pm.
