  • 56th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival in Memorial City | Tuesday, April 25 to Sunday, April 30 – Explore more than 30 independent international films and over 60 short films at this annual six-day film festival that also features opening and closing bashes, and other special events. $10 for individual screenings; all-film passes available.   • Not Another Conspiracy: Market & Performance at Post Houston’s X- Atrium | Thursday, April 27 & Friday, April 29 – More than 50 Houston artists come together for a two-night collaborative art experience in Downtown. Each night features a 1-hour, 8-act original show featuring artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, followed by an artist market, art installations and DJs. $15 and up. 7pm to 11pm.
  • The Riot Comedy Club presents Sam Jay at Rudyard’s Pub | Thursday, April 27 to Saturday, April 29 – The Emmy-nominated Saturday Night Live writer and comedian known for her recent Peacock series, Bust Down, Sam Jay churns out the laughs across five sets at Rudz. $17 and up. Times vary.
  • HTX Whiskey Weekend at City Place | Friday, April 28 & Saturday, April 29 – The shopping and dining hub in Spring hosts back-to-back nights of whiskey celebration, kicking off with a Chef’s Table event on Friday night. Then, on Saturday, claim your place at lectures, tastings, cocktail classes and more. Tickets are sold per event; $35 and up. Times vary.
  • 9 to 5: The Musical at Art Factory | Friday, April 28 to Sunday, April 30 – Hear the hits of beloved country music icon Dolly Parton when Art Factory’s revival of this bombastic Broadway musical hits the Docks near Downtown. $30. Showtimes vary.
  • Houston Grand Opera presents Salome at Wortham Center | Friday, April 28 & Sunday, April 30 – Strauss’s erotic psychodrama comes to the HGO stage, based on the scandalous play by Oscar Wilde. $20 and up. Times vary.

  • 4 Hands Dinner: Mexico Edition with Iron Chef Roberto Solís at Musaafer – Chef Mayank Istwal of the luxe Galleria-area Indian restaurant teams up with Mexico-based Chef Roberto Solís for a multi-course menu of unforgettable culinary fusion between Mexican and Indian cuisines, highlighting the distinct heritage of both chefs’ backgrounds and homelands. $190, plus tax and gratuity. 5pm.

  • Geomet-Rumi: Love is the Light in the Heart Reception at Silver Street Studios | FREE – In Sawyer Yards, this solo exhibition of works from artist Fariba Abedin is celebrated with a night that features recitation of Rumi’s poems in connection to the art, as well as Persian Sufi music, dance and light bites. 6pm to 8:30pm.
  • Comedian Rosebud Baker at Houston Improv – After releasing her first hour-long special, Whiskey Fists, the stand-up comedian, actor and writer brings her insights on everything from relationships to her love of dogs over humans, for a one-night performance at the Improv. $40 for 2, and up. 7:30pm.
  • Yves Tumor in Concert at Warehouse Live – The Milan-based multi-talented artist is bringing his signature style of eccentric high-energy electro-indie pop to EaDo in celebration of his most recent album, Praise a Lord Who Chews but Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds). $34.50 and up. 8pm.

  • Autism Awareness Fest at Monkey’s Tail | No Cover – After gathering donations all month long, Monkey’s Tail in the Heights hosts a one-day bash to cap off their fundraising goals. Kick the day off with brunch and coffee from Tenfold Coffee, soak in vibes all day from DJ Sun, shop goods from the student-operated Monarch Schools store, and enjoy a rare tequila tasting in the early evening. 11am to 9pm.
  • Célébrez en Rosé Houston at Houston Botanic Garden – Don your best pink and whites for an afternoon celebration of all things rosé. Sip on wine, champagne, frosé and cocktails while enjoying food pairings, DJs and live music, games, photo ops and more. $85 and up. 1pm.
  • Brews & Browse Spring Market at Urban South HTX Brewery | No Cover – This festive market in Arts District offers a fun-filled day of inflatables and face painting, as well as local vendors, food, raffle prizes and more. Kids and pets are welcome. 1pm to 6pm.
  • Sonoma County Wine Fest at Kemah Boardwalk – Sample more than 72 wines from two dozen wineries at this tasting blowout in Kemah. Attendees can also enjoy appetizers, vendor giveaways and live music from Tracy Perez and Clutch City. $59.95. 2pm to 5pm.
  • Houston Zydeco Fest at Emancipation Park – The Third Ward park space hosts an afternoon of Zydeco tunes and food vendors that make up a Creole party with games, contests and more activities. $10 and up. 2pm to 10pm.
  • Backyard Brewfest 2023 at East End Backyard – The second annual event at the laid-back East End space celebrates with local breweries, live music and DJs, food trucks and crawfish. $25 and up. 3pm.
  • Tribeville Concert Series at NRG Arena – The first ever concert series showcasing Black music from across the world is at NRG Park, celebrating various genres of music such as Afrobeats, Soca and Dancehall. $55 and up. 5:30pm.
  • Hip-Hop Classics Tour at Smart Financial Centre – Sugar Land is about to play host to a score of hip-hop legends like Scarface, Doug E Fresh, Rakim, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, and DJ Jazzy Jeff when they take the Smart Financial stage. $49 and up. 6:30pm.
  • Cubaton 2023 at Arena Theatre – This jam-packed bill Cuban artists comes to the Southwest Houston stage, featuring acts like Gente De Zona, El Chacal, Osmani Garcia and others. $60 and up. 8pm.
  • Yaeji with Jessy Lanza in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The Korean American hip-hop and house music–making phenom, Yaeji is pulling up in the Northside and she’s taking over the downstairs stage at White Oak with music from her forthcoming debut record. $25 and up. 8pm.
  • All Benito & Karol G Everything at Warehouse Live – Soak up a night of reggaeton hits with this dance party that features the work of Bad Bunny, Karol G and other superstars of the genre. $15 and up. 9pm.
