  • Labor Day at Axelrad Beer Garden | No Cover – Enjoy happy hour specials—$3 mimosas, $4 wells, and $5 for margs, house wine and micheladas—from open until 7pm, along with 20% discounts on frozens and “fancy pants” beers. 2pm to 11:30pm.
  • The Sandlot Movie Screening at Rooftop Cinema Club – Send off the summer with the classic ’90s flick about a team of baseball-playing kids and their summer misadventures. $19 and up. 7:30pm.
  • The Successful Show at The Secret Group – Join hosts Bob Morrissey, Cody Greenlee and Emily Peacock for a night of laughs, joy, and the shared understanding that success is often just a comedic mishap away $5. 8pm.

  • Bilmuri in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The indie-pop/post-hardcore act takes the stage at the Heights venue. Since the release of Jaguar Shark in 2016, the singer has drawn inspo from neon pop-punk, with hardcore and emo music influences. $25. 7pm.
  • Kaitlin Butts in Concert at The Heights Theater – The country singer-songwriter brings her Oklahoma twang and storytelling chops to Houston as part of her world tour. With songs like “Hunt You Down” and “Marfa Lights,” she’s garnered legions of fans across the country and around the world. $20 and up. 7pm.
  • Pulse of a People: Jalen Baker’s Jazz Quintet in Concert at Alta Arts Space – Be among the first to hear this new suite of music based on the happenings, culture and importance of the Black communities of Houston’s Third, Fourth, and Fifth Wards—performed by a nine-piece ensemble that includes both The Jalen Baker Jazz Quintet and The Apollo Chamber Players. $35. 7:30pm. 
  • Summer Salt in Concert at White Oak Music Hall – The Heights-area venue welcomes the indie folk act from Austin. With breezy harmonies and pop flourishes, the group is known for offering a fresh musical perspective on the folk genre, while offering familiar vibes. $28 and up. 8pm.

  • Galactic Empire in Concert at Warehouse Live Midtown – The cult sensation known for its guitar-heavy metal reinterpretations of classic and modern Star Wars theme, mostly written by John Williams, alters the deal in a fan-pleasing show in Midtown. $25. 6:30pm.
  • Imagine Dragons in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The epic Las Vegas-born pop-rock act—fronted by Dan Reynolds, with guitarist Wayne Sermon and bassist Ben McKee—will take over The Woodlands stage with their hits that include “Radioactive”, “Demons”, and “Believer.” $129 and up. 7pm.
  • Santana Draper Pro Boxing Debut at RedOwl Boxing Arena – Boxer Santana Draper makes his professional debut at BoxFest X at RedOwl Boxing Arena. The milestone event will be an evening of intense matchups, showcasing the sport’s rising stars. $48.56. 7pm to midnight.
  • DaCamera presents Endea Owens & the Cookout in Concert at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – One of jazz’s most vibrant emerging artists, Owens graduated from Julliard and immediately joined The Late Show With Stephen Colbert house band, Stay Human. Her work’s been featured in Judas and the Black Messiah, and she’s won Emmy, Grammy and George Foster Peabody awards. 8pm.
  • Comedian Jo Koy at Toyota Center – Known for filing up stadiums around North America and beyond, Jo Koy returns to H-Town for crowd-pleasing comedy in the heart of Downtown. $49.50 and up. 8pm.

  • Red Bull Showrun at Discovery Green | FREE – Oracle Red Bull Racing make its Houston debut when its award-winning race car, RB7, pulls off flawless donuts and roaring burnouts on a custom-built temporary track surrounding the park. Fan zone from 10am to 3pm; Red Bull Showrun from noon to 2pm.
  • Tacos & Margs Crawl at Bottled Blonde – Start your journey at the Washington Avenue spot, then eat and drink your way along seven participating bars and restaurants, offering their takes on tacos and Margaritas. $24.99 and up. 2pm.
  • Adam & Eve & the iPhone Opening Reception at Archway Gallery | FREE – Be among the first to see this exhibit of more than 100 hand-crafted iPhones, all available for sale via silent auction. The opening reception features a discussion by the artist, John Slaby, complimentary valet parking and light bites. 5pm to 8pm.
  • Barbie Movie Screening at Hendley Green | FREE – The movie finale to Galveston’s Strand Summer Series (the live local music finale follows next week to full close out the summer) is the 2023 blockbuster starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and a long list of familiar names and faces. 6:30pm to 9pm.
  • Comedian Whitney Cummings at 713 Music Hall – The stand-up comic, actor and director of The Female Brain, Whitney Cummings makes an appearance at Post HTX’s music venue in Downtown while on her Big Baby Tour. $47 and up. 7pm. 
  • Rin’ History & Story: ’24 Waggaki Sessions at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Explore and engage with Japan’s musical past, present, and future, with evening of music blending classical Japanese instruments with American pop and rock. 8pm.
  • Galveston Sand Crab Night Beach 5K, 10K & Kid Mile at East Beach – Everyone’s welcome at a night run on the beach, complete with food vendors and beers from Galveston Island Brewing, music, and more. $80. 8pm to 11pm.
  • Comedian Sam Tallent at The Secret Group – Deigned “the absurd voice of a surreal generation” by the Denver Post, Tallent takes to the EaDo stage for two shows. $20 in advance; $25 day of show. 7pm and 9pm.
  • Ramona in Concert at Continental Club – The Midtown mainstay welcomes the Tijuana indie band that’s created its own niche in rock music, performing alongside acts like Natalia Lafourcade, Hello Seahorse, Enjambre, Kinky, Unknown Mortal and more. $20 and up. 9pm.
  • DJ Dharak at Warehouse Live – The international Bollywood DJ brings explosive, dance-til-you-drop beats to Houston, complete high energy and propulsive fun all night long. $20 and up. 9pm.
  • Ramona in Concert at Continental Club – The Midtown mainstay welcomes the Tijuana indie band that’s created its own niche in rock music, performing alongside acts like Natalia Lafourcade, Hello Seahorse, Enjambre, Kinky, Unknown Mortal and more. $20 and up. 9pm.
  • Red Bull Turn It Up at Noto – Be part of the crowd for this inaugural, interactive, crowd-judged DJ competition that uses specific themes to inspire each challenger’s track selection. It’s a chance to vote for your faves and dance all night long. $5 and up. 9pm.

  • The Wailers in Concert at Last Concert Cafe – The Jamaican reggae band featuring former members of Bob Marley and the Wailers celebrates its 40th anniversary with a live show. They’re bringing their distinctive sound and style to H-Town. $29.50 and up. 7pm.
  • Fea in Concert at Black Magic Social Club – The all-female Chicana punk band from San Antonio comes to Houston on the last stop of its tour. Iggy Pop has praised their work, and reviewers call them “trailblazing.” Quinn the Brain and Mannon share the bill. $10. 7pm to midnight.
  • Childish Gambino in Concert at Toyota Center  – The artist also known as Donald Glover comes to Houston as part of a new world tour. The actor, singer, rapper and writer brings his chart-topping, Grammy-nominated style to the stage downtown. Willow opens. $39.50 and up. 8pm.
