Houston Symphony: Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert at Jones Hall | Friday & Saturday – See a live screening of what’s widely regarded as the best Star Wars movie of all time (1980, PG) with John Williams’ moving and rousing live score, including the exhilarating “Imperial March”, performed live on stage by the symphony. Mardi Gras! Galveston on Galveston Island | Starts Friday | Ongoing – The third largest Mardi Gras celebration in the U.S. kicks off with 2 weeks of parades, balls, balcony parties, live music, and colorful celebrations, and more, including all ages parades and adults only bacchanals. Some events are free; most official activities in the Mardi Gras district are included in the $15 admission; free for ages 12 and under. Times vary.
Cirque du Soleil: Echo at Sam Houston Race Park | Daily | Ongoing – The world-renowned Cirque du Soleil’s Echo is a brand-new production blending its signature acrobatics, captivating visuals, and enchanting characters. $60 and up, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale market and save 20% off your tickets with promo code HOUSTON20. 10th Annual SheBelieves Cup: Japan vs. Australia & U.S.A. vs. Columbia at Shell Energy Stadium – Catch a doubleheader of world class women’s soccer in EaDo, starting off with 7th-ranked Japan facing off against #15 Australia, followed by #1 U.S Women’s National Team facing #21 Columbia. $26 and up. 4pm.
Mardi Gras Glow Bike Ride at Island Bicycle Company – For February, the third Thursday glow bike ride highlights Mardi Gras on Galveston island, with a ride along the Seawall, through the scenic historic downtown before stopping at Pier 21, along the 2.5-hour excursion. 6:30pm.
TopHouse in Concert at Last Concert Cafe – The folk band from Montana, living in Nashville, takes to the stage in Downtown’s Warehouse District. The Wildwoods open. $25. 7pm.

Houston Dynamo vs. Dallas FC at Shell Energy Stadium – The Dynamo celebrate their 2025 home opener with a match against the boys from up I-45. Expect a wall flag giveaway and post match fireworks. Future games available. 7:30pm.
Faye Webster in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The Georgia-based indie singer-songwriter who rose to fame with her 2019 album Atlanta Millionaires Club brings her act to the 713 stage. $76 and up. 8pm.
Shovels & Rope in Concert at The Heights Theater – The husband and wife folk duo from Charleston, South Carolina, Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst, land in the HTX, blending their individual traditional folk, rock ‘n roll and country rock talents into a compelling sound. Houston Rockets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves at Toyota Center – The Rockets battle the boys from Minneapolis in Downtown. United Skates Movie Screening at Discovery Green | FREE – In connection with the Rink, Discovery Green presents a free showing of the 2018 documentary about African-American roller-skating culture. 7pm.
