10th Annual SheBelieves Cup: Japan vs. Australia & U.S.A. vs. Columbia at Shell Energy Stadium | Thursday – Catch a doubleheader of world class women’s soccer in EaDo. Particularly impactful for young girls and boys, the 2 matches begin with 7th-ranked Japan facing off against No. 15 Australia, followed by No. 1 U.S Women’s National Team facing No. 21 Columbia. $26 and up. 4pm. 

Houston Symphony: Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in Concert at Jones Hall | Friday & Saturday – See a live screening of what’s widely regarded as the best Star Wars movie of all time (1980, PG) with John Williams’ moving and rousing live score, including the exhilarating “Imperial March”, performed live on stage by the symphony. Prices and showtimes vary.

Radiant Nature at Houston Botanic Garden | Friday to Sunday | Final Days – Houston’s longest running winter light installation, which has a natural tie in with Lunar New Year, finally wraps up its run for the season. $28.50; free for ages 3 and under. Times vary

The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green | Opens Friday | Ongoing – Downtown’s destination park begins its transition from winter into spring with daily outdoor roller skating into April. $14 includes skate rental. Hours vary.

Black Panther: Superhero Saturday at The Rink at Discovery Green | Saturday – Bring your camera to snap a pose with Black Panther while roller skating on the Rink. $14 includes skate rentals. Noon to 3pm.

Mardi Gras Celebration at Kemah Boardwalk | Saturday | FREE – Enjoy live music, Mardi Gras and kids crafts, capped off by the Yachty Gras Boat Parade. Noon to 8pm. 

Design a Button Activity at CAMH | Saturday | FREE – Design a button to show your identity, or to honor a family member or friend—inspired by the exhibition Vincent Valdez: Just a Dream. 1pm to 4pm.

10th Annual Mardi Gras on Main in Downtown La Porte | Saturday | FREE – The annual popular all ages street festival kicks off with a New Orleans tradition, the second line parade with everyone welcome to join the procession to the main celebration. There you’ll find a Mardi Gras market, a kids zone, an artisan vendor market, live music, food trucks, beer and wine, and more spirited fun. 4pm to 8pm.

Winter Festival: Year of the Snake at MFAH | Sunday | FREE – The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston hosts a family-friendly, Lunar New Year-inspired winter celebration, with fiery drummers, K-Pop and other musical performances, lion and dragon dancers, East Asian cuisines, and more. 1pm to 5pm.
