Erasing Towers: How Visual Language Enforces Hierarchies (and Then How to Break Them)
Houston-based designer and founder of Thirty Magazines, Evan O’Neil will be delivering a talk that examines how our visual language creates hierarchy in design, politics, and art.
Those attending will learn more about the inequities that develop from structural hierarchy in the world of art and in broader society.
With this knowledge O’Neil will discuss opportunities artists can take to change this symbolic language to better break imposed hierarchies.
