All Weekend Long

  • Houston Street Art Tour | Thursday through Saturday – Meet up at Empire Cafe and join Destination English on an air-conditioned bus to discover Houston’s vibrant street art scene and to learn about the artists behind the murals. Tickets are $35. 10am to 12:30pm.
  • End of Summer Labor Day Music and Art Fest | Saturday and Sunday – Be entertained by 3 stages of over 30 indie rock bands at this End of Summer festival on Labor Day weekend. Mingle with artists and vendors and enjoy food from local food trucks at Last Concert Cafe and Eastdown Warehouse. Tickets are $10. 4pm to 11:30pm daily.
  • Drake & Future in Concert at Toyota Center Watch Grammy award-winning rapper Drake along with Future play hits like “Jumpman” at the Toyota Center. Tickets start at $49.50 but you may find cheaper of better seats on TicketNetwork’s site. 6:30pm.

  • French Wine 201 at Triniti Restaurant Join Sommelier Rick Stiles, Chef Ryan Hildebrand, and French Country Wines as they embark on a casual exploration of the wines from France’s lesser known regions. Each tasting is $25 per person. 5pm to 8pm.
  • Stress Less Coloring Mandalas at Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church | FREE – Bring your coloring pencils to the Resurrection Metropolitan Community Church for Stress Less Coloring Mandalas. Relieve stress and manage anxiety in a therapeutic way by coloring in unique mandalas. 7pm.
  • Lip Sync Battle at Baker Street Pub | FREE to Attend – Bring your A-game, props, and costumes to Baker St. Pub and Grill when they host a six-week Lip Sync Battle featuring a grand prize of $1000 cash. Registration is required to compete. 9pm.
  • Dollar Punk Night at Barbarella Houston Rock out to punk bands such as Kemo For Emo and Licker for a buck at the midtown dance club. Cover is $1. 9pm.

  • Mid Main First Thursday Block Party Mid Main Houston is back with their first Thursday block parties that include live music, shopping, food, and drinks. Donations and a percentage of the proceeds will go to benefiting Kids’ Meals, Inc. Cost is $5 at the door. 5pm.
  • Pop-Up with Pacha at Glitter Karaoke Chefs Masaru Fukuda and Alejandro Betancourt are back at Glitter Karaoke and serving up great food with their new company Pacha Private Chefs and Creative Catering. You must RSVP to attend this event. 8pm.

  • Open Studio at CAMH | FREE to Attend – Join the Contemporary Art Museum of Houston for the all-ages Saturday program, Open Studio, where you’ll sketch your heart out in a strange doll still-life drawing session in homage to the work of artist Thedra Cullar-Ledford. 2pm to 4pm.
  • Camera Cult 7″ Single Release Party at Satellite BarCelebrate the 7″ single release of local electronic disco act Camera Cult with live performances from Us, Rex Hudson, and Vans Deferens at Satellite Bar. Tickets are $5 at the door. 8pm.
  • RuPaul’s Drag Race Winner of Season 4 Sharon Needles at South Beach Drag queen superstar Sharon Needles returns to the LGBT-friendly nightclub South Beach for a show-stopping performance with an encore after midnight. After her performance, Miss Needles will participate in a meet and greet with a photo shoot included. Free before 10pm; $15 after 10pm. 9pm to 2am.
  • Pachanguear con Bombón Dance Party at Fox HollowGet down to the Bombón latin DJ’s as they play cumbia, bajo tropical, guarachero, salsa, latin breaks, reggaeton and more at Fox Hollow. Get there early for a game of Loteria (Mexican bingo), complimentary Rémy Martin drinks, bites from Boombox Taco, and 1738 Accord Royal Rémy Martin bottle service for one lucky winner.
