“Shoot at Cancer” during a clay shooting tournament benefitting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at American Shooting Center on Friday, August 28, 2015.
The second annual Clays for a Cure Challenge, a sporting clay tournament that benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), will take place at American Shooting Center in Eldridge Park. Participants will join a Friday morning tourney and show off their shooting skills for a great cause. All proceeds from the event go to support LLS.
Upon arrival at American Shooting Center at 8:30am, guests can register, participate in shooting games, enjoy coffee and donuts, and listen to a short safety briefing before the main event.
At 10am, the sporting clay tournament begins with a shotgun start, as teams of four shoot a 100-target, 10-station course. Lewis Class scoring will be offered, so everyone has a chance to win.
Following the clay shoot, guests will be treated to a tasty barbecue lunch prepared by the Spirit of Texas Cookers and enjoy cool beer courtesy of St. Arnold Brewing Company.
Stick around after lunch for a raffle, door prizes and awards.
About Clays for a Cure Challenge
The Clays for a Cure Challenge was created in 2014 when 10-year-old Andy Allen, the son of a teammate in LLS’s Team In Training program, received a diagnosis that his leukemia had returned. Teammates and other volunteers wanted to help by raising funds for LLS to help Andy and others like him.
LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services for patients and their loved ones.
