  • Zoolympics at the Houston Zoo Test your strength, speed, and balance while learning about animal conservation and stick around for Zoovie night featuring Kung Fu Panda 3. Take advantage of this cool after-hours event – it’s the last one of the season. 5pm to 8pm.
  • Midtown Wine Down in Bagby Park | FREE to Attend – Unwind at Midtown’s monthly happy hour in Bagby Park featuring live music from Mango Punch! and happy hour specials on food and drinks from Rico’s Morning Noon Night. Get started with beats by DJ Mav until 5pm and again after the show. 4pm to 8:30pm.
  • Bands on the Sand in Galveston Head to Galveston’s Palm Beach to enjoy fireworks and live music from Kaos and Cody Hodges during this summer concert series. Tickets are $15, not including ticket fees. 6pm.
  • Chevron Canvas Painting Class at TXRX Labs Learn how to make a Pinterest-worthy chevron canvas painting during this BYOB art class led by Pop Shop Houston. Tickets are $38, not including ticket fees. 7pm to 9pm.
  • Waugh Bat Colony Boat ToursWatch 250,000 Mexican free-tailed bats emerge from the Waugh Bridge at dusk while sitting comfortably on a boat during this tour offered by the Buffalo Bayou Partnership. Tickets are $30, not including ticket fees. 7:40pm to 9:10pm
  • The Pancakes & Booze Art Show at Warehouse LiveCheck out work from more than 120 artists as you chow down on treats from the pancake bar during this underground art show. Tickets are $5, not including ticket fees. 8pm.
  • Beatles vs. Stones Tribute Concert at Arena Theatre It’s the ultimate classic rock showdown as Beatles tribute band Abbey Road takes on the Rolling Stones tribute Jumping Jack Flash at Arena Theatre in Houston. Tickets range from $19.50 to $100, but you may find limited discounted tickets here. 8:30pm.
  • Guns N’ Roses in Concert at NRG StadiumRock out with Guns N’ Roses when their Not in This Lifetime Reunion Tour takes over NRG. Tickets start at $39.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 8:30pm.
