Catastrophic Theatre: Love Bomb at MATCH
Sunday, November 17, 2024 | 2:30 pm
Pay-What-You-CanThe Catastrophic Theatre presents Love Bomb, a world premiere musical written by Brian Jucha featuring the music of ’70s icon and singer-songwriter Melanie, at MATCH in Midtown.
The First Lady of Woodstock, Melanie is notoriously famous for “Brand New Key”, also known as “The Roller Skates song”. She’s also known for chart-toppers songs “‘Lay Down (Candles in the Rain)” and her 1970 cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Ruby Tuesday”.
The experimental new musical invites guests to join Catastrophic at the dance hall where there’s nothing people won’t do to find love. It starts with “taxi dancers,” people who attended early 20th century dance halls to be paid in exchange for a single dance, or more.
Everything else that follows is sure to surprise.
Attendees can enjoy free beer at the Friday performances. The Monday, December 2 performance is industry night.
