Scroll down to see upcoming performances, shows, and events at MATCH.
Opened in 2015, the Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston (MATCH) features five stages that host 100 to 329 attendees across various spaces for performing arts productions, gallery exhibitions, rehearsal studios, and more.
Seeing a need to help Houston’s more than 540 cultural arts organizations receive some of the $600 million of annual cultural philanthropy doled out in the city, the nonprofit MATCH theater serves many of the smaller performing arts companies, including Catastrophic Theatre, Obsidian Theater Company, Dirt Dogs Theatre Co., and more. In addition, MATCH plays host to traveling performers, musicians, comedians, and other theater groups.
Seating arrangements vary based on theater, though Matchbox 4 features the largest seating arrangement and all other theaters have one tier of seating. The informal lobby area is outdoors and provides seating to enjoy beverages and snacks from the concession area near Main Street.
This popular of Midtown neighborhood also contains plenty to do pre- or post-show with a series of restaurants and bars located within a three block walk of the theater.
Parking & Getting There
Parking is available in the Mid Main parking garage located across the street (entrance on Travis Street). Street parking in the area is very limited and prone to quickly fill up on performance nights.
The MetroRail provides service along the Red Line at HCC/Ensemble station along Main Street.
