Catch City of Houston’s free 4th of July fireworks spectacular over Downtown tonight

Cap off your Independence Day festivities with a live, free fireworks spectacular over Downtown Houston on Independence Day, July 4, 2023 at about 9:30pm.

The final part of the City of Houston’s official 4th of July festival, Freedom Over Texas, at Eleanor Tinsley Park in Downtown can be viewed at no cost by all from miles around.

The spectacular fireworks show happens in the sky immediately west of Downtown and above Bufffalo Bayou, Allen Parkway, and Memorial Drive. 

What Time do Fireworks Start in Downtown Houston Tonight?

The fireworks show starts sometime around 9:30pm.

The best views will be those that have a clear line of site to the skies above Eleanor Tinsely Park and Buffalo Bayou, immediately west of Downtown.

City of Houston’s Freedom Over Texas Fireworks Above Eleanor Tinsley Park

  • Date: Independence Day, Monday, July 4, 2023
  • Time: Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:30pm.
  • Watch: Fireworks can be viewed free from around Downtown. They’re also part of the City’s Freedom Over Texas celebration at Eleanor Tinsley Park. Tickets to that event are $10; free ages 5 and under. Order tickets or learn more.
