    Plan out your Spring Break week with some of the best things to do with family and kids at museums, parks and more destinations in Greater Houston from Friday, March 10 to Sunday, March 19, 2023.

    Spring Break is upon us, and with it comes the scramble for family plans and activities that keep the week rolling along.

    Fortunately, many of Houston’s signature parks, museums and family-friendly destinations have you covered with week-long camps and activities for the whole family.

    Oh, and not to mention there’s a rodeo going on in town, in case you hadn’t heard.

    Here are some of the best ways for families and kids to spend the Spring Break week in Greater Houston:

    2023 Spring Break for Families & Kids in Houston

    • Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo at NRG Park | Daily through Sunday, March 19 – Happening every day of Spring Break, the Houston Rodeo offers full days of carnival fun, festival eats, livestock and petting zoos, a vendor marketplace, and a nightly main event of bronco bustin’ and headlining concerts. Through Spring Break, you can catch performers like Kenny Chesney, Chris Stapleton, Brad Paisley and the Sunday finale concert from Luke Bryan. NRG Park admission is $20 for ages 13 and up; $10 for ages 3 to 12; free for ages 2 and under. Carnival rides, rodeo and concert admission is an additional cost. 8am to 9pm daily.
    • The Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green | Daily through St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 – The Downtown park space closes out its fifth and final week of rollerskating at one of its signature experiences each year. Hit the rink and enjoy DJ tunes and light shows as you glide under the skyscrapers. $12 per person; includes skate rental. 11am to 11pm; Sunday 11am to 8pm.
    • Spring Break: Golden Age of the Cattle Drive at George Ranch Historical Park | Saturday, March 11 to Saturday, March 18 – The Fort Bend historical park steps into the age of cattle drivers with daily demonstrations of roping, cattle driving, steer roundups, chuckwagon cooking and other aspects of life on the range. $15 for ages 13 and up; $10 for ages 4 to 12; free for ages 3 and under. Closed Sunday and Monday. 9am to 5pm.
    • Spring Break at Lone Star Flight Museum | Saturday, March 11 to Saturday, March 18 – Take flight all week long with daily activities at the aviation museum that include aircraft displays, talks with pilots and mechanics, hands-on demonstrations, NASA Day on Thursday, drones, and more. $18; $15 for ages 12 to 17; $12 for ages 4 to 11; free for ages 3 and under. Closed Monday. 10am to 5pm; Sunday noon to 5pm.

    • Moon 2 Mars Festival at Space Center Houston | Saturday, March 11 to Sunday, March 19 – This week-long festival at Johnson Space Center celebrates the innovations that power space exploration with looks at cutting-edge space tech, immersive experiences and astronaut appearances, plus four days of live concerts to round out the festivities, including sets from Sister Hazel, Rick Springfield and Bidi Bidi Banda, the Selena tribute band. $44.95 and up; $39.95 for ages 4 to 11; free for ages 3 and under. 9am to 5pm.
    • Spring Break Destination Celebration at Children’s Museum Houston | Saturday, March 11 to Sunday, March 19 – Every day of Spring Break brings fun for all ages to the Museum District with daily activities like bungee trampolines, appearances by Mario and Princess Peach, dinosaurs, the annual Pi Day pie fight, a snow day celebration, and more. $15 for ages 1 and up. Closed Monday. 10am to 6pm.
    • Spring Break BotaniCamp 2023 at Houston Botanic Garden | Monday, March 13 to Thursday, March 16 – Intended for K-5 students, this plant-centric nature camp in South Houston goes deeper than just observation, allowing campers to explore aquatic animals and plants, experiment with water chemistry and help clean up Sims Bayou. $200 per child. 9am to 2pm.
    • Spring Break at Houston Toy Museum | Monday, March 13 to St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 – Houston’s newest museum, located in the heart of the Heights, offers special Spring Break pricing for kids, plus extended hours and gift shop discounts. Kids pay their own age; $18 for ages 13 and up. 10am to 6pm daily.
    • Spring Break Camp at Alley Theatre | Monday, March 13 to St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 – This week-long camp from Alley Theatre in Downtown lets little learners take on storytelling and acting, culminating in a celebratory performance at the end of the week. Along the way, they’ll explore the big ideas represented in children’s books and socialize with other students. $325 per child. 9am to 3pm.
    • Spring Break at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft | Monday, March 13 to St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 | FREE – Every day, the craft museum on Main Street will host hands-on activities, letting participants ages 3 and up explore craft and art making through different materials, tools and techniques. Activities take about a half hour and include crafts like wet-felted bracelets, jute baskets, knots, painting with natural dyes, and polymer-clay miniatures. 10am to 1pm.

    • Spring Break at Bayou Bend Collection & Gardens | Monday, March 13 to St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 – The American Decorative Arts museum hosts a week of art activities, play zones and daily highlights like a petting zoo, puppet shows, a harp performance and chances to explore Texas snakes and wetland wildlife. $10; free for ages 18 and under. 10am to 4pm.
    • Spring Breakation at the Woodlands Children’s Museum | Monday, March 13 to Sunday, March 19 – Held daily through Spring Break, the Woodlands Children’s Museum packs the day with performances from singing zoologist Lucas Miller, Will Parker, the McTeggart Irish Dance performers on St. Patrick’s Day, and more. $8 for ages 1 and up. Times vary.
    • Spring Break: Natural Texas at Fort Bend Museum | Tuesday, March 14 to St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 | FREE – Through the week, visitors to Fort Bend Museum in Richmond can explore the nature of Texas with sensory bin nature play, crafts and makerspaces, community booths, scientific observations and picnics on the lawn. 9am to 11am.
    • Spring Break: Nowruz at Asia Society Texas Center | Tuesday, March 14 to St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 | FREE – Celebrate the Persian New Year at Asia Society by celebrating life in harmony with nature through a week of hands-on arts and craft activities and storytelling at the Museum District center for cultural and community diversity. 11am to 2pm.
    • Main Street Theater presents Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus: The Musical at MATCH | Tuesday, March 14 to Saturday, March 18 – Based on the Caldecott Honor award-winning book, this musical for kiddos finds an unlikely volunteer taking over the wheel of the bus with an innovative mix of songs, silliness and feathers. $14 and up. Daily at 1:30pm; Saturday at 10:30am and 1:30pm.
    • Going Bananas Celebration & Scavenger Hunt at Sugar Land Town Square | Thursday, March 16 | FREE – Find bananas hidden around Sugar Land Town Square and you might win tickets to see the Savannah Bananas Exhibition Game, plus tickets to Space Cowboy games, shows at Smart Financial Centre, and more. Plus, see the unveiling of Shelbi Nicole‘s bananas-inspired pavement art, meet and greet some of the Savannah Bananas themselves, and more. 11am; scavenger hunt check-in starts at 10:30am.
    • 20th Annual Seabrook Lucky Trails Celebration & Marathon at Rex Meador Park | St. Patrick’s Day, Friday, March 17 to Sunday, March 19 – The all-levels and all ages race weekend, including the “Luckiest Marathon in Texas”, returns to Seabrook for the 20th year, filled with a Kids K, 2 days of 5Ks and half marathons, a quarter-length and full marathon, plus a 4-person relay race. St. Pat’s costumes are encouraged and the after party will boast a costume contest, green beer for the grown-ups, great food, and more. Times vary
