Things to Do All Weekend Long
- Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo at NRG Park | Daily – The Rodeo’s big return continues, with full houses showing up for bucking broncos, calf scrambles, mutton bustin’, and—oh, yeah—the crowd-pleasing headliners. This weekend’s star performers are Journey, Bun B’s Houston Takeover on Black Heritage Day, Conroe native Parker McCollum, and Dierks Bentley. Dates, prices and times vary, and all Rodeo tickets include access to the fairgrounds, but you may find cheaper, better, or hard-to-get seats on the online resale market.
- Venardos Circus at Dry Creek Social Club | Daily – Step right up and marvel at the Broadway-inspired circus with amazing all-human acts under the intimate red and white striped tent in Richmond. $25; $15 for ages 12 and under. Showtimes vary.
- Special Rodeo Package at Blossom Hotel Houston | Daily – Houston’s newest luxury hotel, conveniently located in the Medical Center, is offering up a special option for folks who Rodeo in style. Book your stay and secure free parking, two welcome cocktails, and access to all of the brand new hotel’s amenities for $249 though the entire run of the Rodeo.
- Comedian Big Jay Oakerson at Houston Improv | Thursday to Saturday – With appearances on Comedy Central, Inside Amy Schumer, and BET’s ComicView, the Philly-native comedian comes to the Improv for five shows of his latest material. Tickets are sold by the table; $44 for 2 and up. Times vary.
- The Riot Comedy Show: Sugar Sammy at Rudyard’s British Pub | Friday & Saturday – The globally touring comedian is joined by Riot Show comedians on the stage at the Montrose British pub for a highly anticipated gut-busting set. $20 and up. 7:30pm and 10pm both nights.
- The Conjurer: An Intimate Magical Experience with Magician Curt Miller at JW Marriott by the Galleria | Friday & Saturday – Delight at amazing close-up magic, side-splitting clean comedy, and more at a theatrical magic presentation with high end lighting, music and video with a vintage magic theater vibe. $85 to $110. 8pm both nights.
- That Golden Girls Show at Hobby Center | Friday & Saturday – Relive Golden Girls goodness at this critically-acclaimed puppet parody show that graces the Hobby Center stage for back-to-back nights. $43.50 and up. Times vary.
- 2nd Annual Latino/a/x Contemporary Dance Festival at MATCH | Friday to Sunday – Exploring a variety of Latin dance performance styles, this weekend is a celebration of Latino/a/x culture, giving audiences a glimpse at dazzling artistry. $15 in advance; $20 at the door; $30 for a three-day pass. 8pm daily.
- Swing Into Spring Market at Pearland Town Center | Saturday & Sunday | No Cover – The outdoor shopping mall gets into the swing of spring with a two-day market filled with local vendors, giveaways and more. Times vary.

- Sense & Sensibility at Alley Theatre | Daily | Ongoing Show – A fresh look at Jane Austen’s deep and humorous classic—with surprising modern relevance—follows the story of sisters Marianne and Elinor Dashwood, left socially vulnerable in the wake of their father’s death. $30 and up. Showtimes vary.
- Amerikin at Alley Theatre | Daily | Ongoing Show – When new dad Jeff Browning, desperate for community, casually follows his buddy’s advice and signs up to join a white supremacist group, the results of his ancestry test prove surprising. Serious consequences come knocking and the line between “us” and “them” gets incredibly blurry. Prices and showtimes vary.

- Grand Opening Celebration at Maize – The brand new traditional Mexican restaurant in the Energy Corridor throws open its doors with a late morning ribbon-cutting, followed by a five course wine dinner starting at 6:30pm. Restaurant hours 11:30am to 10pm.
- Maya Stovall: Theorem, no. 2 Art Performance at Blaffer Art Museum | FREE – Stovall’s cross-discipline live performance continues, blending hyperkinetic choreographic movements and speech interspersed with long meditations involving walking, reading, writing, and just plain standing there and thinking. 3pm to 4:30pm.
- Samba Dance Class at Midtown Park | FREE – Brazilian Cultural Institute leads a two-hour dance class, teaching the samba that originated in Rio de Janeiro. Dance partners aren’t needed to participate. 7pm.
- Memorial Park’s Picnic for the Park 2022: Starlight Soiree Gala at the Clay Family Eastern Glades – Drink, dine, and dance under the stars at Memorial Park Conservancy’s spring fundraiser, hosted in the park’s brand spanking new Eastern Glades. Starts at $250. 6:30pm to 10pm.
- Eric Nam at Warehouse Live – The American K-Pop artist most recently dropped his sophomore studio album, There and Back Again, which brings him to the EaDo stage while on a world tour. $45. 8pm.
- Fletcher at House of Blues – The pop vocalist, who broke through a few years back with her single “Undrunk,” swings through Downtown Houston while on her North American tour. $20. 8pm.
- RodeoHouston: Journey in Concert at NRG Stadium – Get ready to belt out the words to “Don’t Stop Believin’” when the classic rock band led by Arnel Pineda comes to the Rodeo. $20 and up, but you may find better, cheaper or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8:45pm.

- Tiger Ball 2022 at Asia Society Texas Center – Celebrate the museum’s 10th anniversary at a special gala featuring visual artist Tiffany Chung, astronaut Soichi Noguchi, and UH chancellor Renu Khator at an event featuring cocktails, seated dinner, dancing, and an auction. $1,500 and up. 7pm to 11pm.
- Bob Dylan at Smart Financial Centre – The mythical songwriter (and Nobel Prize winner) stops by Sugar Land to perform songs from his 39th studio album, the introspective Rough and Rowdy Ways. $39.50 and up. 8pm.
- RodeoHouston: Bun B’s H-Town Takeover Concert at NRG Stadium | Black Heritage Day – Houston’s legendary rap scene takes center stage at the Rodeo as Bun B joins with Slim Thug, Z-Ro, Lil Keke, Lil’ Flip and Paul Wall on Black Heritage Day. $20 and up, but you may find better, cheaper or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 8:45pm.
- Electric Foam Opening Party at Stereo Live – Dance amongst the foam at the debut of the new event, with music from DJ producer and singer, XIE. Free with RSVP. $7 for express entry. 10pm to 2am.
