Rock out to the greatest hits of Schoolhouse Rock at a lively, stage production at Lambert Theatre in the Heights from Friday, June 19 through Sunday, June 28, 2015.
In the 70s and 80s, ABC’s Saturday morning cartoon series Schoolhouse Rock educated kids in a totally entertaining way. The still-parodied “I’m Just a Bill” (sitting here on Capitol Hill) taught civics, “Conjunction Junction” taught grammar, “Three Is a Magic Number” taught math and more.
Performed by the members of UpStage Theatre at Lambert Hall, the live version follows a teacher nervous about his first day of school. When he turns on the TV to try and relax, various characters come out of the screen to give him tips on impressing with classic songs like “Interplanet Janet,” “Interjections,” “Elbow Room,” and more.
