Get festive with the family for free at the yearly St. Patty’s Parade in Downtown Houston, Saturday, March 14, 2015, at noon.

Break out the emerald green t-shirts and mini-Irish flags as the 56th annual parade marches through the streets of Downtown Houston. The two-hour affair is one of the largest St. Patty’s events in the U.S. as more than 100 groups of participants will be marching from block to block. Dating back to the late-1800s, Houston’s ode to the Irish and Irish-at-heart features bagpipers, floats, color guards, hundreds of costumed marchers, and dancers showing off some traditional jigs. The parade begins on Texas Avenue at Avenida de las Americas and travels west, looping back to St. Emanuel at Rusk. After all the pomp and circumstance, join other cultural revelers at Lucky’s Pub for plenty of Guiness toasts.
