Embrace Cajun and New Orleans lifestyles at the third annual Bayou Jamboree and Crawfish Boil at 2nd Saturday Nites in Historic Market Square on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
Historic Market Square’s new free monthly event series, 2nd Saturday Nites, continues returns for May with a big helping of Louisiana fixings, with beer, crawfish, gumbo, Cajun eats, spirited live music.
Teams will face off for the best gumbo in H-town with public tastings, with judging and awards immediately following the event.
After the show, grown-ups will also find special entertainment and offers at many of the neighborhood’s eclectic bars and restaurants, including Little Dipper, OKRA Charity Saloon, Niko Niko’s, La Fisheria, Dean’s Downtown, and Treebeards.
2nd Saturday Nites: Bayou Jamboree & Crawfish Boil
Louisiana descends on Historic Market Square in full force, with crawfish, beer, Cajun eats, horn-blowing and two-stepping fun.
Local live music favorite Zydeco Dots will kick things off before New Orlean’s own Big Sam’s Funky Nation takes the stage for a Saturday afternoon party.
Crawfish & Cajun Classics
Treebeard’s will be on site serving up boiled crawfish and some of their popular classics like red beans and rice and shrimp etouffee. Truck on the Bayou and Yeti Sunshine will also be serving up curbside treats to sate your Cajun cravings.
Market on Main
Starting at 7pm, Market on Main will keep things bustling with food and vendor trucks from 7pm until 2am along the 300 and 400 blocks of Main Street.
Expect to see Casian King Food Truck, The Lucky Fig, Truck on the Bayou, Taco Nuts and Unlikely Boutique.
