- An American in Paris at the Hobby Center | Daily – This musical documents the journey of an American soldier in Paris post-World War II and the love he shares for his best friend’s girl. Tickets start at $38.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale marketplace. Thursday 7:30pm; Friday 8pm; Saturday and Sunday 2pm.
- World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest at NRG Park | Thursday to Saturday – The Houston Rodeo is back and it will kick off with a three-day BBQ contest with live music and carnival rides. $15. Thursday 5pm to 11pm; Friday noon to 11pm; Saturday 9am to 11pm.
- Passing Strange at Obsidian Theater | Thursday to Saturday – See this Tony award-winning rock musical about a young black man who goes on a journey to find out who he his. Tickets start at $27.50, not including ticket fees. 8pm nightly.
- Camel and Ostrich Races at Sam Houston Race Park | Friday and Saturday – Cheer on the camels and ostriches as they race over two nights at Sam Houston Race Park. $7. Friday 5:30pm; Saturday 4:30pm.
- Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic at Minute Maid Park | Friday to Sunday – Watch teams like TCU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Texas Tech go head-to-head in this weekend tournament of college baseball at Minute Maid Park. Tickets start at $19, not including ticket fees. Friday and Saturday noon; Sunday 10am.

- The Lumineers in Concert at Smart Financial Centre | WIN VIP Tickets – Sing along to “Hey Ho” as the Denver-based folk rock band performs in Houston for one night only. Download the JamFeed app and follow the band and you might win two VIP tickets to the show. 7pm.
- Kyra Fashion Show at Ronin Art House | FREE to Attend – Houston-based fashion line Kyra will launch their Spring 2017 collection at this fashion show at Ronin Art House. 7pm.

- Dr. Seuss’ Birthday at The Woodlands Children’s Museum – Celebrate the 113th birthday of Dr. Seuss by creating art inspired by the illustrator and hearing some of his most popular stories. $6. Noon to 5pm.
- Opening Night of Rink: Rolling at Discovery Green – Houston, we have an outdoor roller rink. Celebrate the opening with live music and a skating demo from the Roller Derby Girls at Discovery Green. $12. 6pm to 10pm.
