The big game is finally here. Whether you’re looking to get in on all the action or lay low to avoid the crowds, we’ve got you covered with our weekend guide. Downtown will be lively with Super Bowl Live, EaDo End-Zone, and Mid Main SuperFest, Viet Hoa Center will host the largest Lunar New Year celebration in Texas, and NRG will hold the biggest NFL game of the year.

Things to Do All Super Bowl Weekend

  • Super Bowl Live at Discovery Green | Daily | FREE – Gear up for Super Bowl LI with music, performances, and football themed activities in the heart of Downtown Houston. Expect to see artists like Leon Bridges, ZZ Top, Wild Moccasins, and The Suffers. Thursday 3pm to 11pm; Friday and Saturday 10am to 11pm; Sunday 10am to 3pm.
  • EaDo End-Zone at Lucky’s Pub Downtown | Daily – Get pumped up for The Big Game with this ten-day long themed festival the official party zone for Budweiser. The festival starts will have everything from cook-offs to bar games to tournaments and more. There will be giveaways, celebrity appearances, and the festival will end with The Big Game viewing party. Times vary.
  • NFL Experience at George R. Brown Convention Center | Daily – Bring the family out to the Convention Center for interactive games, youth football clinics, NFL merch and player autograph sessions in preparation for the Super Bowl. Thursday 3pm to 10pm; Friday and Saturday 10am to 10pm; Sunday 10am to 3pm.
  • Mid Main SuperFest | Daily | FREE to Attend – In honor of the big game, Mid Main hosts a 4-day SuperFest filled with art, vendors, and live performances by bands like The Polyphonic Spree, The Tontons and more. Thursday to Saturday 5pm; Sunday 10:30pm.
  • First Down: 2 Days of Live Music at Historic Market Square | Friday and Saturday | FREE to Attend – Market Square Park teams up with Wonky Power Records to bring you two days of live, local music right in the middle of Downtown Houston’s Historic Market Square. 11am to 3pm Friday; 11am to 4pm Saturday.
  • Midtown Park Super Block Party in the New Midtown Park | Friday and Saturday | FREE to Attend – Soak in musical entertainment (local and national), food, art, and outdoor fun for all ages at a public debut and preview of the new three-acre Midtown Park. There will be live performances, official Super Bowl LI activations, DJ tunes, drinks, food, and more. All ages are welcome. Saturday 10am to 7pm; Sunday 10am to 2pm.
  • Lunar New Year Houston 2017 at Viet Hoa Center | Saturday and Sunday | FREE to Attend Bring in the Year of the Fire Rooster with performances, lion dances, martial arts demonstrations, fireworks and more at Texas’ largest Lunar New Year celebration. 10am to 6pm both days.
  • Pearland Super Weekend | Saturday and Sunday | FREE to Attend – Enjoy a free concert by singer RaeLynn at Pearland Town Center at 7pm and get a taste of local cuisine. Trolley car shuttles will transport visitors to participating Pearland hotels and restaurants all weekend. The concert is free and round-trip trolley rides are $1. Noon to 10pm.

  • TXFest 2017 at Lucky’s Pub This special, single-day event will celebrate Texas culture with the very best Texas music, cuisine, and home-grown country fun. Tourists and locals alike are invited to enjoy live musical performances while shopping from local vendors and sampling Texas beer, wine, and spirits. $25. 11am to 10pm with live ESPN broadcasts at 5am, 9am, and noon.
  • Open Studio: Colorful Abstractions at CAMH | FREE – Drop into the Contemporary Art Museum for this hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own oil pastel work inspired by the paintings of Angel Otero. 6pm to 8pm.
  • Game City Showcase in Midtown, Theater District, EaDo & Museum District | FREE – Dive into the some of Houston’s favorite neighborhoods with four nights of free events, including free entertainment, food, drinks, interactive art, celebrity appearances, and more. Free with an email RSVP. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Houston Rockets vs. Atlanta Hawks at Toyota Center Cheer loud for the Rockets when they hit the court to play the Hawks at Toyota Center. Tickets start at $20, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. 7pm.
  • The Big Texas Party at Silver Street Studios Enjoy some of Houston’s best barbecue, Texas beer, spirits, and wine at this Texas-sized soiree before the big game. There will also be a surprise musical guest and special appearances by football players with Texas roots. Tickets start at $125. 7pm to 11pm.
  • Dry Powder at the Alley Theatre | Daily – See the publicity nightmare unravel when a company announces massive layoffs and the boss throws an extravagant party in the same week. Tickets start at $30, not including ticket fees. 7:30pm.
  • Code Orange in Concert at Eastdown WarehouseOpening act Youth Code at Gatekeeper will rock the stage with headliner Code Orange at this concert at Eastdown Warehouse. Tickets start at $12, not including ticket fees. 8pm to 11pm.
