Head to the coast for Yachty Gras’ Grand Night Boat Parade through the Clear Lake Channel and along Kemah Boardwalk, complete with throwing beads, on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 7pm.

A collection of elaborately adorned and lit yachts, quiet motor boats and sailboats, Yachty Gras is taking to Clear Lake and the bay beyond it for the 15th time this year. Each entry is features a krewe assembled by the boat owner and many throw out strings of beads to parade watchers on the shore or along the Kemah Boardwalk.

Family Friendly Mardi Gras Fun

The family friendly event launches at 7pm, but it naturally happens at a fairly lazy pace. The best place to view it is from the Kemah Boardwalk or other nearby restaurants where you can find entertainment leading up to the parades arrival. Judges will be located at the Kemah Boardwalk and will tally their votes for the most lavishly decorated boats and most enthusiastic krewes.
