Witness Houston’s own Wild Moccasins when they perform their latest album, Look Together, at the official album launch party downstairs at White Oak Music Hall on Saturday, July 7, 2018.
Founded in 2007, Wild Moccasins is comprised of singer Zahira Gutierrez, with Cody Swann on guitar, Nicholas Cody on bass and Avery Davis on drums.
The album, Look Together, was inspired by Gutierrez’s and Swann’s decision to split as a couple, but keep their band together following the release of their last album. They shared the full story with Rookie when they debuted “Boyish Wave,” their first single from the new album.
The all ages show kicks off with opening acts Camera Cult and El Lago. Click here to RSVP or for more information.
Praise for Look Together
Early reaction to the album has been enthusiastically positive.
“I was introduced to the group a couple weeks ago and haven’t been able to stop listening to them since; their latest single, “No Muse”… is an intoxicating blend of shimmering guitar, Gutierrez’s half-submerged vocals, and retro-sounding synths. And when the drums kick in, it makes me want to get up and dance.” Stefanee Wang, The Fader
“Think Debbie Harry fronting a band that combined Duran Duran and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and you get one incredible post-punk, synth-wave band. Front woman Zahira Gutierrez’s vocals are fierce and edgy, as she hollers at the people who deny us the right to love who we want and be what we want.” — Ben Yung, The Revue
“On their latest release Look Together, the four piece turns things up a notch by mixing synth pop and dream pop into their indie pop sound. They don’t waste time in reminding us why those four years [since their last album] felt so long.” — David Garrick, Houston Press
The full album hit the shelves, both digital and physical, on Friday, June 29, so Houstonians and other prospective fans can have a listen before the show this Saturday, July 7.
