In our Where to Brunch series, we search Houston’s vast array of neighborhoods for the very best brunch offerings. Originally published in 2017, we are now refreshing, updating, and adding to this series, including new neighborhoods and destinations.

Houston’s Energy Corridor may play home to the world’s largest energy companies, but there’s way more to this business district than straight business. It also boasts a lineup of tasty brunch spots, for starters.

Note: For the purposes of this list, the Energy Corridor is defined by South Fry to the west, Beltway 8 to the east, I-10/Park Row to the north, and Westpark Tollway to the south.

Where to Brunch in the Energy Corridor

  • BB’s Cafe Hit this local favorite and you’ll find Tex-Cajun eats including boudin biscuits, blackened shrimp Benedicts, and mascarpone-stuffed French toast done Bananas Foster style—topped with flamed pecan Foster’s sauce and fresh bananas, plus a side of bourbon maple syrup. Saturday and Sunday 11am to 3pm. Click here for directions.
  • Brenner’s Steakhouse – Brunch goes well beyond filets and ribeyes at this Houston institution, though you can always get those, too. Dine on huevos rancheros frittata, a house biscuit benedict with jumbo lump crab bake and prime rib, and Honey Graham-crusted fried chicken and Belgian waffles with chantilly cream. If you’re feeling lunch, go for lobster bisque, French dip, Caesar salad, or those aforementioned steaks. Sunday 11am to 3pm. Click here for directions.
  • District 7This local mini-chain’s newest outpost sits in the Energy Corridor, offering fork & knife eats from pork ribeye & eggs to chicken-fried chicken and banana French toast. There’s also a lineup of breakfast tacos, omelets, and boozy morning drinks. On nicer days, enjoy brunch on the patio. Saturday and Sunday 10am to 3pm. Click here for directions.
  • Hungry’s – This local favorite offers something for everyone, morning, noon, and night. At brunch, go healthy with organic quinoa eggs benny, grilled salmon salad, vegan “beef” tacos, and yogurt with granola, fruit and local Texas honey. Or go for the big guns with plates like Southern crispy chicken and eggs, gyros and fries, and croissant French toast. Everything on the menu pairs perfectly with fresh juice cocktails, frozen bellinis, and sangria. Kids can enjoy classic egg breakfasts and miniature chocolate chip waffles. Saturday and Sunday 9am to 3pm. Click here for directions.
  • Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen – Sylvia’s offers a Sunday brunch buffet full of a.m. classics and authentic Mexican favorites from enchilada queen Sylvia Casares. Feast on made-to-order pancakes and omelets, eggs-your-way, huevos rancheros, migas, and chilaquiles; hit the enchilada extravaganza, taco, and salad stations; and save room for desserts like tres leches and flan. Brunch costs $24.95 per person, with $5 mimosa specials. Sunday 11am to 3pm. Click here for directions.
