About Vivian Hordes

Hordes’ practice spans multiple techniques in printmaking, drawing, and collage. Her prints have been includes in The New Orleans Triennial: A Southern Perspective on Prints, a solo exhibition at The Museum of Printing History where she was honored as the “Undiscovered Printmaker of the Year”, Williams Tower Visual Arts Alliance juried exhibitions, and many Houston public art events.

“I begin each piece with the intention to create something different than the last while thinking about developing all the parts of the composition to fit together as a whole,” said Hordes.

“My aim is to balance order and chaos within each composition using shapes, lines and layers that, hopefully, will draw the viewer’s eye into an inward realm of reflection and mystery.
