Last-Minute Valentine’s Day Reservations

There’s still plenty of enchanting spots around Greater Houston offering curated multi-course experiences, craft cocktail specials, cozy at-home dinners, and at least one home run derby—but act fast as reservations continue to book up.

  • The Lymbar at the Ion | Midtown – Chef David Cordúa leads a special tasting dinner with six dishes paired with Folio Wines. Dishes include oyster and fried chicken, corn gnocchi, shrimp tikka masala, smoked lamb lollichops, tres leches with wild strawberry, and more. $180 per couple. Seatings at 6pm and 8pm.
  • Musaafer | Galleria – The upscale Indian restaurant is offering a specially curated seven-course meal with wine and cocktail add-ons, inspired by the aphrodisiac journey of Kamdeva, the Hindu god of love, desire and pleasure. The experience will also be rounded out with live entertainment and complimentary welcome bubbles. $170 per person. Seating at 5pm and 8pm.
  • Amrina | The Woodlands – With just a few early dinner slots remaining, Amrina hosts a Valentine’s five-course meal with options like caviar, lobster tail poached in saffron spiced butter, beef tenderloin, cordyceps extract and exotic mushrooms, and pan-seared paneer. Finish the night off with a strawberry and coconut popsicle. $125 per person.

Things to Do on Valentine’s Day in Houston

Whether you want to dress to the nine’s for a night on the town, keep it low-key and casual, mix and mingle with singles, or bust up to live comedy, there’s plenty going down for Valentine’s Day weekend in Houston.

  • Before Sunset Movie Screening & Concert at MATCH – The Friends of River Oaks Theatre bring their Mobile Movie Palace to MATCH for a Valentine’s Day special event. Come by when doors open to grab a drink and a poem from Inprint poetry buskers, then catch Sara Van Buskirk performing live at 7pm, followed by a screening of Richard Linklater’s Before Sunset, starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. $17. 6pm.
  • Valentine’s Day at Axelrad | No Cover – The neon beer garden in Midtown hosts an evening marketplace where you can shop gifts for your boo, enjoy jazz with a steak night provided by Amexicun, flex your creative side with Houston Paint Sesh, and more. 6pm to midnight.
  • The Riot presents Valentine’s Day Comedy Showcase at Rudyard’s Pub – Grab a date, invisible or otherwise, and head to Rudz to hear all about what local comedians think about Valentine’s Day, however good or bad that may be. $15 and up. 7pm and 9pm.

  • Explore the arts on a budget – Museums like the Menil Collection in Montrose and Contemporary Arts Museum Houston are always free and open to the public, with the Menil offering plenty of space to pack a picnic on the quiet grounds. But you can also time it right with free admission hours at other spots like MFAH, HMNS, and plenty more around Houston.
  • Set a new high score at arcades – Separated by only a few blocks, Cidercade in East End and Joystix in Downtown provide dozens of new and classic games with other arcade fun that makes for a great throwback date night. Get an unlimited play pass at each, and let the sticks fly.
  • Go stargazing at George Observatory – Pick your evening session and go out exploring as expert guides walk you through the constellations with a laser tour, then duck into the multiple domes and peer through telescopes to see celestial bodies like planets of our solar system, the moon, constellations and other deep sky objects. Every Saturday, 7pm to 10pm.
