Ring in the first anniversary of the edgy street art gallery UP Art Studio at their free daylong art opening and party in the Heights on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 1pm to 10pm.

UP Art Studio celebrates established, new and upcoming urban and contemporary artists, with a focus on graffiti, street and aerosol artists from Houston and beyond. They’ve been showcasing new works and artists for a year now and they’re throwing down to celebrate with a gallery art show and art market, with live music by BBC and the HHIFE Cypher Session and a performance by Rocko Stedy.

The featured artist is Sebastien “Mr. D.” Boileau, who splits his time between Houston and France. Other artists represented and in attendance will include Houston’s own 2:12, Cutthroat, Dual, Gear, Lee Washington, Santiago Paez, Devo, Zen Full, Z.A. Casto and Zink520 X-Men. You’ll also find work from Chicago’s Cujo RK, Gape RK and Statik RK; the U.K.’s Diff, JPS and Mason Storm; New York’s Poem FX; Barcelona’s El Pez; and Burn353 of  Springfield, Illinois.

Complimentary drinks will be provided by  Karbach Brewing Co. and Deep Eddy Vodka. Food trucks will be on hand to keep guests fed, with MuSuBi from 1pm to 4:30pm and Cariño Taco Truck from 5:30pm to 10pm.

The exhibit will be viewable through Thursday, December 5, 2013 by appointment only.
