Catch a performance of the hilarious, award-winning musical Victor/Victoria at the Hobby Center from Tuesday, September 16 through Sunday, September 28, 2014.
Based on Blake Edwards’ classic 1982 film starring Julie Andrews, James Gardner and Leslie Ann Warren, the stage musical Victor/Victoria is a warm, funny look at the nature of love, gender perceptions and the battle of the sexes.
It tells of an out-of-work singer whose life changes when she meets the clever and flamboyant Toddy, who helps transform her into “Victor” making her an overnight singing sensation in Paris nightclubs. The catch is that Victor is then presented as a female impersonator. Confused? So is the newfound love of her life, King Marchan, a Chicago gangster.
See stirring productions of now classic songs like “Le Jazz Hot” to the contemplative “Crazy World,” from the humor of “Chicago, Illinois” to the touching “Almost a Love Song.”
