Pearland Restaurant Weeks | Daily – Throughout November, Pearland restaurants will feature curated menus and specialty offerings, with a portion of every order supporting the Pearland Neighborhood Center. Enjoy fixed-price menus at $20 for 2-course breakfasts and lunches, and $35 for 3-course dinners. Hours and locations vary.
Writer Ta-Nehisi Coates at the Wortham Center | Monday – Coates will read from his new book, The Message, followed by an on-stage conversation with celebrated author and Rice University faculty member Kiese Laymon. $35 includes a copy of The Message for signing. 7:30pm.
Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time Concert at Toyota Center | Tuesday – Celebrating 30 years of Carey’s Merry Christmas album and “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, the concert will mingle holiday classics alongside her fan-favorite chart-toppers. $59 and up. 7:30pm.
Broadway Across America: Shucked at Hobby Center | Tuesday to Sunday – Get a bit corny at the hilarious Tony-winning musical comedy focuses on the residents of Cobb County, who embark on a scheme to save their dying corn crop. Expect corny innuendo, along with adult themes and language. Recommended for ages 10 and up. $40 and up. Showtimes vary.
Houston 5-Year Anniversary at Guard & Grace | Wednesday – Luxe steakhouse Guard and Grace celebrates five years in HTX with an epic anniversary bash. The energetic, standing-room-only event features exceptional passed bites and beverages, curated by chef-owner Troy Guard, executive chef Adam Vero and a remarkable lineup of guest chefs. 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
Kacey Musgraves in Concert at Toyota Center | Thursday – The country, pop, folk artist—and seven-time Grammy-winner—brings her Deeper Well Tour to Downtown, joined by Lord Huron and Nickel Creek join the show. $59. 7:30pm.
DASH Holiday Market at The Ballroom at Tanglewood | Thursday to Sunday – The fall edition of the highly curated, twice-yearly home décor and gift market features a collection of local and national dealers. Parking, food and a full bar included. $10. Times and prices vary.
City Lights Downtown Holiday Magic Kick-Off Party | Friday | FREE – Enjoy live music, strolling entertainment, and a craft station as Downtown launches the 2024 City Lights event. Lights on at 6:15pm. 5:30pm to 8pm.
Dreamgirls Movie Screening at Trebly Park | Friday | FREE – Downtown’s newest park space presents a screening of the 2006 musical Dreamgirls (PG-13), starring Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, and Anika Noni Rose, Bring your lawn blanket and your own food, or order from nearby restaurants. 6:30pm.
NBA Cup: Houston Rockets vs. Portland Trail Blazers at Toyota Center | Friday – The Rockets face off against the boys from the Pacific Northwest in the run up to the final NBA Cup tourney happening in Vegas next month. $29 and up, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the online ticket resale market. 7pm.
Zoo Lights: Opening Weekend at Houston Zoo | Opens Friday – Kick off Zoo Lights season exploring the zoo’s winding paths adorned with holiday lights and check out the new Whimsical Wildlife Tree and the Twinkle Trail in the African Forest. $28.95. 5:30pm to 10:30pm; last entry at 9:30pm nightly.
32nd Annual Artcrawl Houston 2024 in Downtown Artists’ Warehouse District | Saturday | FREE – Tour mazes of working art studios and gallery exhibition spaces including Hardy & Nance Studios, Bisong Art Gallery, Los Muertos Tattoo Studio, and Mother Dog Studios. 10am to 9pm.
HTX Fall Festival at The Esplanade at Navigation | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – Plan for a full day of family fun with vendors, free face painting, raffles, prizes, and live music in the heart of Houston’s East End. 1pm to 6pm both days.
Tejano Music Super Fest at Kemah Boardwalk | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – Drop in for two days of family fun and Tejano music. Both days kick off midday with live DJs spinning Tejano favorites and free kids crafts and activities. Live Jazz on the Seawall at Galveston Island Convention Center | Sunday – Two of the biggest smooth jazz stars in the U.S., Brian Simpson and Marion Meadows, perform live inside the convention center. $49 and up. 3:30pm to 6:30pm.
A Magical Cirque Christmas at Smart Financial Centre – Get in the holiday spirit at a variety show full of nostalgia, charm, and awe-inspiring human circus performances set against a holiday backdrop and soundtrack. $39 and up. 7:30pm.
