Shakira in Concert at Toyota Center | Monday & Tuesday – With her Sunday show bumped to Monday, the Colombian singer-songwriter superstar performs live in HTX for 2 live arena concerts in support of her latest Grammy-winning album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. $239+. 7:30pm.

Houston Grand Opera: A Voice Within at Emancipation Park | Tuesday – HGO performs 12 original songs that share stories of Black Houstonians, providing a platform for voices that often have been marginalized in the classical music world, in the Third Ward park on the eve of Juneteenth. $25. 7pm.

Houston Symphony: The Goonies: Film with Live Orchestra at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Tuesday | FREE – Experience summer of Richard Donner’s classic ’80s teen adventure filled with booby-trapped caves, pirate treasure, the truffle shuffle, and more—all to the live score performed by the Houston Symphony in The Woodlands. 8:05pm.

160th Juneteenth Celebrations, Commemorations, Parties & Events in Greater Houston & Galveston | Tuesday to Sunday | Ongoing – This weekend, beginning on the actual holiday and anniversary of Juneteenth on Thursday, celebrations and events kick into high gear in Houston and especially on Galveston Island, where Juneteenth started. Places, prices and times vary

Juneteenth Parade & Picnic in Galveston | Thursday | FREE – The lively parade marks the day, kicking off at 26th and Avenue H, with the picnic immediately following at the Wright Cuney Park endpoint. 3pm to 4:30pm.

Juneteenth 160: Freedom, Fireworks & Family at Menard Park | Thursday | FREE – Galveston marks the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth with an evening of remembrance, culture, and celebration. Highlights include honoring veterans, a presentation of past Miss Juneteenths, live music, a big fireworks show, and more. 5pm to 9pm.

2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup: Round 1 Matches at Shell Energy Stadium | Thursday & Saturday – The Confederation of North, Central America, and Caribbean Association Football kicks off, with Trinidad & Tobago vs. Haiti on Thursday, and the doubleheader Curacao vs. Canada & Honduras vs. El Salvador on Saturday. Prices and times vary.

AsiaFest 2025 at Asia Society Texas Center | Friday | FREE – Celebrate Asian H-Town with performances, art activities, an outdoor dragon boat display, live demos, vendors, and more. RSVP required to enter the museum. $12 ticketed performances. 5pm to 9pm.

Classical Summer Vibes at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday | FREE – Aperio, Music of the Americas returns to Miller, with a program pairing beloved Burt Bachrach’s melodies with Michael Torke’s pop-inspired tunes, along with Mexican composer Arturo Marquez’s thrilling and rhythmically driven music, and the world premiere of a double concerto by composer Kevin Day. 8:30pm.

Juneteenth Living History Fest at Buffalo Soldiers National Museum | Friday & Saturday | FREE – The Midtown museum’s back lawn transforms into a living history encampment of the US Colored Troops in a 2-day festival featuring arts and crafts, demonstrations, family activities, and a curated Liberation Market with Black- and veteran-owned businesses and community organizations. 10am to 4pm both days.

Comicpalooza 2025 at George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday to Sunday – Houston’s very own pop culture festival returns with 3 days of panels, appearances by actors from your film and television, creators, vendor markets, cosplay, gaming, kids activities, and more. Times vary.

Make Music Day in Houston, Galveston and Sugar Land | Saturday | Most FREE – Mark the longest day of the year with official events—part of an international celebration of live local music for all ages—happening around Houston, Galveston and Sugar Land. Places, Prices, Times vary.

Metrolympics 2025: Track Meet & Field Day Fun in EaDo | Saturday | FREE for Spectators – Houston’s newest public field event debuts with 100- and 200-meter dashes, relay races, tug-of-war battles, an obstacle course, sack race, a water balloon toss, and more. $17.85. Discounts for 2 and 4 people. 10am to 3pm

Humble Bacon Festival 2025 at Humble Civic Center | Saturday – Bacon lovers can indulge in a tasty day of family fun, a kids area, mechanical pig, contests, and 100+ vendors offering treats like bacon ranch pickles, bacon beer, bacon freeze dried candies, bacon cotton candy, and more. $13.54. 11am to 5pm.

Flea By Night at Discovery Green | | Saturday FREE – The popular open-air night market returns to Downtown, with local artisans and entrepreneurs offering vintage, handmade, recycled, repurposed and local goods. 6pm to 10pm.

Brewsology Beer Fest at Houston Museum of Natural Science | Saturday The big brew festival returns, turning the HMNS into an afterhours haven for all things craft brew. Sip unlimited samples from 55+ local and regional craft breweries while scoping out exhibits. $60+; early entry VIP available. 7pm to 11pm. 

​​A Night in the Borscht Belt at Kenny & Ziggy’s | Saturday & Sunday Ziggy Gruber himself hosts an evening of nostalgia, laughter, prizes, a screening of Lex Gillespie’s acclaimed new doco The Catskills, and enough food to make you plotz. $150. 5pm both nights.

The Beer Can House Block Party in Rice Military | Sunday | FREE – All are invited to a family-friendly quarterly party featuring free Saint Arnold brews,  libations, hands-on craft activities, and live music 1pm to 4pm.

Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Company: Season Announcement & Patio Party at Cottonwood | Sunday | FREE – Join the good folks from Houston’s envelope-pushing theater company to learn about their 2025-26 season, enter a raffle for gift cards, tickets, drink specials, and more. 4pm to 7pm.
