Belt it out at a Kelly Clarkson concert, geek out at the Amazing Houston Comic Con, rock out with Motley Crue and drink your fair share of brews leading up to and during Labor Day Weekend. If you’re ready for some football to start up, it’s finally here. The NCAA Advocare Texas Kickoff – Texas A&M vs. Arizona State – will once again be played at NRG and the Texans will gear up for their season with a kickoff party on the Kemah Boardwalk. All of this and more is happening this week in Houston, Texas.

  • Grand Tasting at Karbach Brewing Co. | Monday, August 31 – Nosh on bites, sip on specialty and barrel-aged brews and bid on silent auction items during Karbach’s Grand Tasting event. Tickets include food and beer and a souvenir tasting glass. $65. 5:30pm.
  • Blue Bell Ice Cream Social at All Gallery Furniture Locations | Tuesday, September 1 | FREE – Celebrate the return of Blue Bell Ice Cream a free ice cream social at Gallery Furniture on North 45, on Post Oak by the Galleria or at the new Grand Parkway location. RSVP here and you may win one of three $250 Gallery Furniture gift cards. 6pm to 9pm.
  • Kelly Clarkson in Concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | Tuesday, September 1 – Kelly Clarkson will belt it out live on stage at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion during an appearance on her tour. The singer-songwriter who rose to fame after winning the first season of American Idol will perform songs from her latest album Piece by Piece. Tickets start at $25 including ticket fees, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale site. 7pm.
  • End of Summer Shandy Affair at Stone’s Throw in Montrose | Wednesday, September 2 | FREE to attend – Toast the approaching end of summer with a special midweek evening featuring a number of different shandies, beer mixed with lemonade, ginger drinks and juices.
  • Mid Main First Thursday in Midtown | Thursday, September 3 – Enjoy live music, drink and food specials and shopping as the monthly street party returns to the fall on the 3500 to 3700 blocks of Main Street. 5pm to midnight. $5 donation to enter the Art Garden; otherwise free to attend.
  • Houston Fashion Week: White Dinner and Fashion Show | Thursday, September 3 – Dress all in white and take in a pre-fall fashion show celebrating the 70s, 80s and today. Prices start at $50.
  • BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival in Galveston | Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6 – Tap into all things craft beer during this three day event at Moody Gardens Hotel. Events include The Galveston Brew Bash, BrewHaHa Grand Tasting, Beach, Brews & Bands and BrewLicious Brews & Foods Pairing. Tickets to most events range from $12 to $185. Times vary.
  • Amazing Houston Comic Con at the George R. Brown Convention Center | Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6 – Meet your favorite creators and celebrities while enjoying art, video games, costumes, family fun, and more during this three day event at George R. Brown Convention Center. Single day tickets $25 to $35; 3 day passes $60; VIP packages start at $150; kids 10 and under receive free admission with paid adult. 3pm to 8pm Friday; 10am to 7pm Saturday; 10am to 6pm Sunday.
  • Houston African Arts Festival at Bayou City Event Center | Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6 | FREE – Enjoy art, live music, dancing, poetry, food and more at this family friendly annual event celebrating Africa. 10am to 8pm both days.
  • First Saturday Arts Market in the Heights | Saturday, 5 – The monthly market returns to daytime hours, with a live music performance by Grifters and Shills at at 3pm. 11am to 6pm.
  • Advocare Texas Kickoff at NRG | Saturday, September 5 – Cheer for the Aggies or the Arizona State Sun Devils when they kick off their 2015 season at NRG. Tickets start at $70, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale site. 6pm.
  • Mötley Crüe with Special Guest Alice Cooper in Concert at Toyota Center | Saturday, September 5 – Catch a live concert from rock band Mötley Crüe during The Final Tour at Toyota Center. Tickets start at $49.50, but you may find cheaper or better seats on the TicketNetwork resale site.
  • Houston Texans Kickoff Party at Kemah Boardwalk | Sunday, September 6 | FREE to Attend – Kickoff the Texans’ season with a party on the Kemah Boardwalk. Guests of all ages will enjoy live music, autograph signings, a performance from the Houston Texans Cheerleaders and an appearance from TORO. 1pm to 3pm.
  • Brews, Blues and BBQ at Karbach Brewing Co. | Sunday, September 6 | FREE to Attend – Enjoy food truck bites and live blues music over regularly priced beers. Noon to 9pm.
