  • 6th Annual MATCH Family Fun Day: At-Home Edition | MLK Day, Monday, January 18 to Sunday, January 24 | FREE – The annual Family Fun Day goes virtual this year, with a week of online material, including kid-friendly videos, video dance performances from Open Dance Project, puzzles, a hip-hop dancing class with Break Free Hip-Hop School and more. The program will be available online starting Sunday, January 17, 2021.
  • 43rd Annual Original MLK Day Virtual Experience & Live Parade of Giving | MLK Day, Monday, January 18 | FREE – For 2021, the Black Heritage Society shifts its celebration—the very first in the country—to a live-streamed event. Instead of the usual float-filled parade, Houstonians can participate in a “reverse drive-through parade” where they’ll line up to donate goods at MacGregor Park in Third Ward. 10am to noon. 
  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Movie Screening at Axelrad | MLK Day, Monday, January 18 | No Cover –Wipe your mind while watching a screening of the stunning 2004 Charlie Kaufman-directed film, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, starring Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet, at Axelrad in Midtown. 9pm.
  • Houston Rockets vs. Phoenix Suns at Toyota Center | Wednesday, January 20 – See the Rockets take to homecourt against Chris Paul, Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns in the heart of Downtown at Toyota Center. $24 to over $300, but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork marketplace. This game is also broadcast on ATT SportsNet-SW and NBA TV. 8:30pm.
  • Dan Crump in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Thursday, January 21 – Americana singer-songwriter Dan Crump takes to the stage at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck to perform a set of “country music for people who don’t like country”. This performance will also be available free and online at YouTube Live. $120 for a table of 4; $180 for a table of 6. 7pm.
  • Hirsch Vineyards Wine Tasting with Jasmine Hirsch, Chris Shepherd & Matthew Pridgen on Zoom | Friday, January 22 – Join Chef Chris Shepherd, winemaker Jasmine Hirsch of Hirsch Vineyards, and Underbelly Hospitality wine guy Matthew Pridgen for a virtual tasting where you’ll learn about all things Pinot. Add on a charcuterie board from Georgia James and have something to snack on during the class. $130. 6pm.
  • Comic T.J. Miller at Houston Improv | Friday, January 22 to Sunday, January 24 – Laugh yourself silly when the Silicon Valley and Deadpool actor, T.J. Miller, known for his absurdist philosophical stand-up comedy brings his observational humor to the stage at Houston Improv for a weekend of shows. Tables are $60 for two people; $120 for four people; $180 for six people. Preferred tables are $80 for two people. Showtimes vary.
  • Houston Symphony presents Live from Jones Hall: Wild Symphony Livestream | Saturday, January 23 – Enjoy an evening of engaging music composed by The Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown, paired with illustrations from Brown’s debut children’s picture book, when the Houston Symphony performs a virtual concert of Wild Symphony. $20. 11am.
  • Punk Rock Garage Sale at Brash Brewing Company | Sunday, January 24 | No Cover – Browse a music-themed market filled with area vendors offering music equipment, artwork, toys, music, zines, music, clothing and more, at Brash Brewing Company in Independence Heights. 1pm to 5pm.
  • Kinetic Ensemble presents Quiet Art: Livestreamed from MATCH | Sunday, January 24 – Kinetic Ensemble livestreams their first concert of 2021, performing Jennifer Higdon’s Quiet Art for string quartet from MATCH in Midtown. Viewers can also see a new string ensemble arrangement of J.S. Bach’s keyboard work, Goldberg Variations. $25 or pay-what-you-can. 7:30pm; available online until Sunday, February 7, 2021.
