- Children’s Storytime Summer Series at Midtown Park | Tuesday, July 19 | FREE – Houston Public Library hosts a storytime session at Midtown Park, with live music from Andy Roo, plus games and snacks. 10am to 11:30am.

- Houston World Series of Dogs at NRG Center | Wednesday, July 20 to Sunday, July 24 – See a field of four-legged friends compete in a series of events, across 150 different breeds, vying for the coveted “Best in Show.” Competitive events include flyball, creative grooming, a frisbee exhibition, and canine musical freestyle. Free daily for ages 12 and under; free for everyone on Wednesday; $10 on Thursday; $15 Friday to Sunday. 8am to 6pm.
- Family Evening Explorations at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center | Thursday, July 21 – Spend the evening exploring the trails on a guided nature walk and learn more about the Houston Arboretum’s different habitats, as well as the local flora and fauna found there. $10 per person. 6:30pm to 8pm.
- The Goonies Movie Screening at Bagby Park | Thursday, July 21 | FREE – Catch an outdoor screening of the 1985 comedy adventure classic, The Goonies, at Bagby Park in Midtown. Follow a group of hilarious misfits when they discover an old pirate map in the attic, following it into an underground cavern in search of lost treasure. 7pm to 9pm.
- Princess Party at Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center | Friday, July 22 – Get to know Disney Princesses when characters like Moana, Belle and Arial visit the Fort Bend children’s center. $15 for ages 1 and up. 11am to 3pm.
- Busy Bees on Buffalo Bayou | Saturday, July 23 | FREE – El Centro de Corazón leads a gardening activity that will help you learn how to attract and support pollen-creating bee populations. Ages 5 and up. 9am to 11am.
- Trae Day Family Funday at Aveva Stadium | Saturday, July 23 | FREE – Houston rapper and philanthropist Trae Tha Truth hosts a family festival in South Houston, featuring free school supplies, backpacks and giveaways, plus animals, games, rides, slabs on display, and more. 3pm to 8pm.
- Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Movie Screening at East Beach | Saturday, July 23 | FREE – Stake a spot near the waves to catch the 2017 family action flick, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, starring Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart. Free, though beach parking is $15. 8:30pm.
- Houston Cricket Festival at Moosa Stadium | Sunday, July 24 | FREE – The brand new stadium in Pearland hosts the first ever Houston Cricket Festival, featuring a doubleheader of Minor League Cricket matches, meet and greets with domestic and international cricketers, local food trucks, giveaways, and a free half-hour cricket clinic for young fans. 10am to 7pm.
