• Astragal Record Release at The End | Monday, January 2 – The local trio blending math rock and broody alt punk, Astragal are starting the new year off with a show in Second Ward to celebrate their debut record release, Pure Cashmere. $10. 7pm.
• An Evening with Ottmar Liebert & Luna Negra at House of Blues | Thursday, January 5 – The five-time Grammy nominee and part-time zen monk, Ottmar Liebert, will be back in town at HOB with his band Luna Negra to perform an intimate and sultry set of what Liebert calls “nouveau flamenco.” $20 and up. 7pm.
• Disco New Year with Disco Expressions at the Continental Club | Friday, January 6 – This is your sign to bring a little bit of disco funk into the new year and get your groove on by catching a live performance by the Disco Expressions in their annual January show. $15 and up. 9pm.
• Houston Symphony presents The Music of Elton John & Billy Joel at Jones Hall | Friday, January 6 to Sunday, January 8 – The piano and vocal virtuoso Michael Cavanaugh—who was handpicked by Billy Joel to recreate the Broadway musical Movin’ Out—puts his talent and performing prowess on display in Downtown Houston, playing the hits from two iconic rock legends, Billy Joel and Elton John. $39 and up. • 14th Annual BowiElvis Fest at the Continental Club | Saturday, January 7 – That time of the year has come again where music lovers the world over gather together to celebrate two of the biggest, baddest, and most influential icons of music history, the King of Rock and Roll and the Thin White Duke on their shared birthdays and listen to their musical legacies. Catch tribute tunes from bands across multiple stages, face painting, Bowie and Elvis games, a costume contest, prizes and more. $25 and up. 6:30pm.
• Future & Friends at Toyota Center | Saturday, January 7 – Pioneer of the melodic trap rap style and everybody’s favorite feature, Future is bringing the party to H-Town on his One Big Party tour with friends Trippie Redd, EST Gee, Boston Richie, and more. $55 and up. 7pm.
• Swimwear Department, with Big Bill & Pinkie Promise at Heights Theater | Saturday, January 7 – The surf rock baby of B-52s and Electric Six, Swimwear Department is bringing summer to the cool January winter as they take the Heights stage with Big Bill and Pinkie Promise supporting. $16 and up. 8pm.
• David Lee Garza & Roberto Pulido at Rise Rooftop | Saturday, January 7 – Texas legends of Tejano join forces for a rooftop concert in Midtown when the Grammy-winning David Lee Garza and Roberto Pulido take the stage. $15 and up. 9pm.

• Mr. Wonderful: The ’80s New Wave Experience at Rise Rooftop | Sunday, January 8 | FREE – It’s always a party when Mr. Wonderful is involved, and you can expect nothing less as the Houston band takes the stage at Rise Rooftop playing all the best new wave, post punk, and alternative hits of the ’80s. 2pm.
• Daniel Seavey at House of Blues | Sunday, January 8 – The young pop star, singer-songwriter, and one-fifth of the pop band Why Don’t We, is coming through the H with his hit singles, “Runaway” and “Can We Pretend That We’re Good?” $20 and up. 7pm.
• Koffin Kats at White Oak Music Hall | Wednesday, January 11 – The OG’s of psychobilly have once again hit the pavement on tour and will be stopping in Northside where they’ll play familiar favorites and newer tunes. $15 and up. 7pm.
• NCT 127 in Concert at Toyota Center | Wednesday, January 11 – NCTzens gather round because the K-Pop wave continues slamming into the States as phenom band NCT 127 lands at the Toyota Center on their second tour promoting the newest release, 2 Baddies. $59 and up. 8pm.
• Motown & Soul Tribute at Main Street Crossing | Wednesday, January 11 – The Soul Sessions band are taking Tomball for a ride on the soul train as they pay tribute to Motown and soul legends like Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin, and more. $43 and up. 8pm.
• Winter Sound Series: Nick Gaitan at Contemporary Arts Museum Houston | Thursday, January 12 | FREE – Co-founder of Tejas Got Soul, storied renaissance man and Houston-native Nick Gaitan will take you on a journey through decades of Chicano music. Umbrella Fellas will also be on hand, slanging their signature burgers and dogs throughout the night. 6pm to 8pm.

• Shwayze at Warehouse Live | Saturday, January 14 – It’s Shwayze season and the alt hip-hop star is celebrating it by going back on tour for his seventh studio release, the heavily reggae-tinged Shway SZN. $20 and up. 8pm.
• Fantasia at Smart Financial Centre | Sunday, January 15 – Catch the Grammy Award–winning powerhouse singer, movie star, and winner of American Idol Season 3, Fantasia when she heads to Sugar Land on a limited tour with special guest, Joe. $52.75 and up. 7pm.
• Junior H at 713 Music Hall | Friday, January 27 – One of the fathers of corrido tumbado, the young guanajuatense, Junior H plans to turn up at 713 with music from his 2022 release, Mi Vida En Un Cigarro 2. $59 and up. 7:45pm.
• Say Girl Say at Heights Theater | Saturday, January 28 – The local duo and staple of Houston’s music scene, the entrancing multi-instrumentalists Say Girl Say are taking over the Heights Theater with support from Marley Moon. $18 and up. 7pm.
• We Came As Romans at White Oak Music Hall | Monday, January 30 – The heavyweights of metalcore are back with their first record in five years, Darkbloom, a heavy hitting traverse through the grief and ultimate tribute to their dear departed bandmate Kyle Pavone. $25 and up. 6pm.
• GloRilla at Warehouse Live | Monday, January 30 – The unapologetically independent and rapidly rising rapper, GloRilla is bringing the house down when she comes through the H promoting her debut EP, Anyways, Life’s Great… $35 and up. 8pm.
