- Houston’s 12K of Christmas at Sam Houston Park | Saturday, December 18 – The 9th year of the holiday running tradition kicks off at Downtown’s Sam Houston Park for a Christmas-themed 12K and 6K competition. All participants will get a chip-timed race, plus finisher’s medal and a snazzy t-shirt. Registration is $40 for the 6K; $50 for the 12K; $20 for the Kids K or Family Walk. 7:30am.
- Santa Hustle 5K & Half Marathon at San Luis Resort in Galveston | Sunday, December 19 – Get decked out in your jolly best, don a Santa cap and beard, and get ready to join in with hundreds of other Saint Nicks for the annual holiday tradition in Galveston. All entrants for the 5K and half marathon will receive a zip hoodie, Santa hat, beard, and a finisher’s medal once you cross the line. Registration ranges from $49.99 for the 5K to $69.99 for the half marathon, with prices raising for race-day registration; $10 for the kids dash. 8am.
- Fury Fighting Championship 55 at Arena Theatre | Sunday, December 19 – The MMA organization hosts another edition of its fighting competition, pitting flyweight and lightweight fighters against one another in the octagon. $64 to more than $100. 2:30pm.
