- “Big Tex” Burger at Rodeo Goat | Friday, September 27 through Sunday, October 20 – Rodeo Goat is once tips the hat to the State Fair of Texas and its legendary Big Tex with an over-the-top “Big Tex” burger. Made with 44 Farms all-beef patty, chicken fried mashed potato cake, bacon, fried onion ring, and chorizo gravy, get it for $13.49 for a limited time only. Add tack on some seasonal Pumpkin Spice Goat Balls, deep-fried, cheesecake-filled balls, coated in pumpkin spice and served with mascarpone dip, while you’re at it.
- 58th Annual Original Greek Festival at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral | Thursday, October 3 to Saturday, October 5 – Houston’s fan-favorite Greek festival returns to the heart of Montrose, celebrating Greek culture with a colossal selection of Greek fare, wine tastings, Greek music and dancing, fun games, a heritage market, and other family-friendly fun. $8; free for ages 12 and under. Thursday 5pm to 10:30pm; Friday and Saturday 11am to 10:30pm.
- Southern Smoke Festival at Discovery Green | Saturday, October 5 – For its epic annual fundraiser, food and beverage industry nonprofit Southern Smoke Foundation has invited over 70 incredible chefs and hospitality pros from across the countr—plus the best wine, spirit, and beer producers—for a day of great eating and drinking, live music, and community. Proceeds will put dollars directly into the pockets of food and beverage workers in-need nationwide and help offer no-cost mental health counseling. $225; $500 VIP. 5pm to 8pm (4pm VIP).
- Oktoberfest & Grand Opening at Katy Beer Garden | Saturday, October 5 | No Cover – The new Katy Beer Garden will host its Grand Opening celebration with an all-day Oktoberfest party. Folks can enjoy live Polka music, bands, and DJs, stein hoisting competitions, costume contests, traditional German sausages, Oktoberfest booze, and more. Noon to 2am.
- 6th Annual A Taste of Cy-Fair at Bridgeland Lakeland Village Center | Saturday, October 5 – A Taste of Cy-Fair brings together local restaurants and businesses, and volunteers, with all proceeds benefiting Cy-Hope to help kids in the Cy-Fair community. Attendees can enjoy bite-sized creations from top local restaurants, sip handpicked wines and craft beers, jam out to live music and entertainment, shop the artisan market, bid on items from the silent auction, and more. 5pm to 8pm; 4pm VIP. Tickets start at $40 for adult; $15 for ages 11 and under; $80 VIP.
- 3rd Annual Oktoberfest at Sugar Land Town Square | Saturday, October 5 – Sugar Land Town Square hosts its third edition of its festive fall celebration in the Flyer Saucer biergarten, featuring 50+ beers, traditional German music, festival eats, and dancing. Attendees can also expect Oktoberfest games, contests, and races including a dachshund dash. $5; $8 day of the event and Flying Saucer Biergarten tasting packages are $25; $30 day of. 5pm to 9pm.
- Ninfa’s & The Lymbar Chef Collaboration Dinner at The Original Ninfa’s in Uptown | Wednesday, October 9 – The Original Ninfa’s hosts a collaboration dinner with guest Chef David Cordúa and Ninfa’s Executive Chef Patti Delgado at its Uptown location, spotlighting Hispanic heritage and wines from XOLO Wines. The evening will begin with welcome drinks and passed appetizers including infladita de ceviche, arancini de paella, and scallop aguachile; followed by a 3-course wine-paired meal featuring Langosta Zarandeado, Texas Quail, Carne Asada, and more before finishing with an interactive churro station and cocktail bar on the back patio. $95 plus tax and gratuity via OpenTable. 6:30pm.
- Black Lagoon Pop-Up at Nickel City | Friday, October 11 through Halloween, Thursday, October 31 – The spine-chilling Halloween pop-up bar, created by industry vets Erin Hayes and Kelsey Ramage, makes its return this October, transforming Houston’s Nickel City in EaDo. Halloween enthusiasts can enjoy the immersive experience, featuring creepily good libations alongside eerie vibes.
- 20th Annual Wine Walk at Market Street | Thursday, October 17 – The 20th annual Wine Walk returns to Market Street in The Woodlands, offering an all-inclusive experience featuring culinary creations from area restaurants, wine displays with industry experts, craft beers, live music, and incredible wine experiences. $79 general admission; $137 VIP with early entry. 6pm to 9pm; 5pm VIP.
- La Fête du Champagne Around Houston | Friday, October 18 through Saturday, October 19 – Celebrating the wines of the Champagne region, La Fête du Champagne returns to Houston for its second year, featuring immersive events, tastings and dinners. Guests can enjoy a Laurent-Perrier Grand Siècle – The Art of Assemblage Lunch at Navy Blue on Friday at noon, $425 per person; Lanson – A Journey Back in Time Dinner at Bar Bludorn on Friday at 6:30pm, $950 per person; La Fête Tasting from noon to 2pm on Saturday at Bludorn, $175 per person; and Saturday’s grand finale La Fête Dinner at Bludorn at 6:30pm, $725 per person.
- Dia de los Muertos at Flora Mexican Kitchen | Thursday, October 24 through Sunday, November 3 – Flora invites guests to celebrate Dia de los Muertos in its striking, chandelier-lit dining room, which will be decked out for the holiday. Guests can enjoy a $55 tasting menu by Chef Mate Zorrilla, with highlights including lobster quesadilla, sea bass al pibil, pumpkin cheesecake, and more. On Saturday, October 26, costumes are encouraged for the first annual Dia de los Muertos Festival, with live dancers, a DJ and mariachi band, plus a taco cart and satellite bars on the patios for those who prefer to mingle.
- Potions & Elixirs at Bandista at the Four Seasons Hotel | Wednesday, October 30 through Saturday, November 2 – Folks are invited to step behind the bookcase and get spirited at Bandista’s All Hallows Eve-themed experience. Dress up and enjoy specialty spooky cocktails served by vampire bartenders. Reservations are required.
- Drink Out for the Dome | Throughout October – This month, Astrodome Conservancy is partnering with bars across Houston to raise awareness and dollars to ensure the iconic structure’s future as a one-of-a-kind destination for locals and visitors. Astrodome supporters are encouraged to Drink Out for the Dome by sipping on an array of specially created Dome-themed drinks, and $1 from each drink purchase will support the Astrodome Conservancy’s vision. Participants include 8th Wonder, offering a Cosmic Dome Lemonade with vodka, Blue Curaçao, and coconut syrup; Kanpai Club, rocking The Astrodomo wih Shōchū, Falernum, miso orgeat, passion fruit, and lemon; Walking Stick Brewing Co. with a Golden Dome English-style golden ale; and more.
