Bumper Boats & LED Kayaks at Discovery Green | Daily | Ends Labor Day, September 1 – The fun at Kinder Lake has been extended through Labor Day. Little captains, with an adult, can spin and crash in the motorized bumper boats or glide amongst LED lights in clear kayaks—30-minute kayak rides or 5-minute bumper sessions. $12 per ride; $20 for a combo. 10am to 10pm daily.

51st Annual Houston Shakespeare Festival at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Thursday, July 31 to Saturday, August 9 | Ongoing | FREE – Catch free, family-friendly performances of Henry V and As You Like It performed by the University of Houston repertory under the stars at the beautiful Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park. Ideal for kids aged 8+.

Jurassic Quest & Brick Fest Live at NRG Center | Friday, August 1 to Sunday, August 3 – Get ready for a roaring family adventure at this epic mash-up of life-size dinosaur exhibits and a LEGO-inspired Brick Fest. Explore towering dinos like Spinosaurus and T. rex, ride on walking dino animatronics, dig for fossils, build in the LEGO zone, and meet adorable baby dinosaurs. $30+, with upgrades offering rides, priority entry, photo ops, and more. Times vary.

All-Stars Car Show at Daikin Park | Saturday, August 2 – Daikin Park hosts the All-Stars Car Show, marking the first-ever car show inside a Major League Baseball stadium and transforming the venue into an automotive paradise, featuring 200+ vehicles, including rare hypercars and vintage classics. $20; $6.42 for ages 4 to 12; $125 VIP. 10am to 5pm.

Danny Go! Live at Smart Financial Centre | Saturday, August  2  Get the kids moving at the high-energy, musical education show designed for ages 3 to 7. Kids can join Danny Go! and friends for an interactive performance full of music, movement, and laughs. VIP packages include a pre-show meet‑and‑greet and merch perks. $39+. 5pm. 

$3 Movies & Free Popcorn at Regal Greenway Grand Palace | Saturday, August  2  & Sunday, August  3 – Escape the summer heat with 2 days of recent flashback movie hits for just $3, in celebration of the refurbished Greenway movie palace, now with luxury recliners, a full bar for parents, and more. Movies include recent favorites A Minecraft MoviePaddington in PeruDespicable Me 4, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and more. All $3 ticket sales will be donated to The Alzheimer’s Association of Houston. Children’s Bingo at Levy Park | Every Thursday | FREE Gather the kiddos and head to Levy Park for a lively round of Children’s Bingo. The 30-minute game, perfect for ages 4 to 12, is a playful way for little ones to practice their letters and numbers—all while scoring awesome prizes. Bingo cards, markers, and prizes provided. 4:30pm weekly.

Blow Out Bash at Children’s Museum Houston | Saturday, August 9 Wrap up summer with a day of music, magic, creativity, and colorful surprises at the Children’s Museum. Enjoy DJ Tyler, face painting, rocket-launching science, confetti dance parties, storytelling, and back-to-school craft stations. $19.95. 9am to 6pm.

Dance & Move with Young Audiences of Houston at Levy Park | Saturdays from Saturday, August 9 to Saturday, August 23 | FREE – Kids can groove, stretch, and express themselves through creative movement in this free, interactive dance and theatre workshop. Held on the Levy Park event lawn, the class blends dance, music, and storytelling to build confidence, creativity, and communication skills. 1pm.

Tiny Aviation Play for Toddlers at Lone Star Flight Museum | Tuesday, August 12 The Lmuseum’s monthly toddlers series offers hands-on, aviation-themed activities designed for children aged 1 to 4. Parents and toddlers can enjoy an hour of developmental and imaginative playtime, with this month’s theme being “Tiny Insects.” $12, $10 members includes museum admission. Advance registration recommended. 9am.

Possums & Popsicles at Houston Arboretum | Saturday, August 16 –Age 5+ can cool off at a fun, 2-hour educational evening learning about local wildlife—especially opossums—while enjoying frozen treats. $50; $35 members; $20 ages 5 to 12. 6pm. 

Kids Night: Houston Dynamo FC vs. San Jose Earthquakes at Shell Energy Stadium | Saturday, August 23 | Book with No Ticketing Fees – The Dynamo face the Quakes in a high-energy battle on the pitch, but the soccer match will feature plenty of pregame fun and extras to celebrate little fans—including pre-match meetings with Diesel the Fox and his mascot buddies from the Astros, Rockets, Texans, Space Cowboys, and SaberCats. $21+ with no ticketing fees at this link. 7:30pm.

Movie Night in Helix Hall: Pixar’s Monsters University at TMC Helix Park | Friday, August 22 | FREE with RSVP Bring the little ones for a screening of Disney-Pixar’s Monsters University (G, 2013). Concessions re available, as well as $15 picnic blankets benefiting the Texas Medical Center Foundation. RSVP required. 6pm doors. 6:30pm movie.

The Science of Sound with Tom’s Fun Band at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Tuesday, August 26 | FREE Dive into the world of sound through music and movement with Tom’s Fun Band, presented by Young Audiences of Houston. The interactive performance explores how sound is produced, moves, and is perceived, using instruments like guitar, trumpet, and drums. Ideal for Pre-K to 4th grade students, the show encourages singing, listening, and dancing. 11am.
