Top 15 Things To Do for Kids & Families in Houston This Week
- Playtime in the Plaza with the Jolley Trolley at Sugar Land Town Square | Monday, October 25 – Tots from 18 months to 5 years of age are welcome aboard the trolley to enjoy a moment of play for up to two hours at Sugar Land Town Square. Tickets are $15 for 30 minutes, $20 for 1 hour. Noon to 2pm.
- WWE Raw at Toyota Center | Monday, October 25 – The nationally televised Monday night spectacle returns to Houston, pitting high-flying wrestlers against one another for exciting bouts in the squared circle. Tickets range from $20 to $120, but you may find better, cheaper, or hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. 6:30pm.
- Grosstopia at Children’s Museum Houston | Tuesday, October 26 through Saturday, October 30 – Get gross at Children’s Museum Houston all week long. Discover spine-tingling experiments, spirit-lifting interactives and slime-filled fun, or grab your favorite costume and your beastly buddies to set out on a daily trick-or-treat adventure (4pm to 6pm daily; 4pm to 8pm Thursday; all day Saturday). Included with general admission; $12 for ages 1 and up, free for ages under 1. 10am to 6pm daily; open until 8pm on Thursday.
- Boogie Bash: Monster Mash at the Woodlands Children’s Museum | Tuesday, October 26 – The weekly Tuesday get-down at the Woodlands Children’s Museum embraces Halloween with some kid-friendly fingerplays, songs and creative movement activities. Included with general admission to the museum; $7 for ages 1 and older. Learn more. 11am.
- Thriller Dance Class & Halloween Party at Just Danze | Thursday, October 28 – Near Willowbrook, this dance studio will walk you through Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance, followed by a dance social and winner-takes-all costume contest. Open to ages 7 and up. Tickets are $25. 7pm to 9:30pm.
- Halloween Outdoor Film Party: Destroy All Monsters at Asia Society Texas Center | Friday, October 29 – Join Godzilla for the ultimate monster mash in the 1968 Japanese film, Destroy All Monsters. Show up early to participate in the family-friendly version of the Squid Games, with prizes on the line. Costumes are encouraged and a variety of Halloween treats will be on-hand. $10; snack box is $10 and serves 2. 7:30pm.
- Boo Dash 5K & Kids Fun Run at Clear Lake Recreation & Community Center | Saturday, October 30 – The third annual casual run event in Clear Lake brings together families and kiddos for a Halloween costume contest in addition to the 5K and Kids Run. Registration is $50 on race day; Kids run registration is $20 on race day. 8am.
- 13th Annual Halloween Classic Car Show at National Museum of Funeral History | Saturday, October 30 – Swing by North Houston to take in a wide variety of cars—including a few hearses—that range from classic to contemporary with some decked out in spooky decor. Plus, enjoy food from local vendors, kids activities, DJ tunes, a silent auction and more. Costumes are encouraged. Admission is $5 for individuals; $10 for couples and families; does not include admission to the museum. 10am to 3:30pm.
- Halloween in the Hangar at Lone Star Flight Museum | Saturday, October 30 – Bring the kiddos out to celebrate the spookiest holiday among aircraft at Lone Star Flight Museum’s annual Halloween in the Hangar event. Trick or treating will be offered from 10am until noon. Costumes are encouraged and ages 12 and under wearing costume are admitted free of charge all day. Included with general admission to the museum; $15 for adults, $13 for ages 12 to 17 and for ages 65 and up, $10 for ages 4 to 11, free for ages 3 and under. 10am to 5pm.
- Día de los Muertos Festival at MECA Houston | Saturday, October 30 & Halloween Day, Sunday, October 31 | FREE – MECA’s annual two-day Día de los Muertos festival in Sixth Ward returns, packed with delicious foods, live music and dance performances, arts and crafts activities, a local vendor market, artists, ofrendas and more. 11am to 7pm both days.
- Scream on the Green at Discovery Green | Saturday, October 30 | FREE – The Downtown park hosts a citywide Halloween celebration with a costume contest, music, and film screening of the 1988 Tim Burton classic, Beetlejuice. 6pm to 10pm.
- Calavera con Calavera at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Saturday, October 30 | FREE | Virtual Option – Fundacion Latino Americana de Accion Social (FLAS) and Grupo de Teatro Indigo combine for this special production about Day of the Dead and the Burgos family, preparing to celebrate the tradition, exploring all the different elements, and what it means to embrace death as a reminder that life is beautiful. Livestream available. 7:30pm.
- Family Movie Night: CoCo at CityPlace in Spring | Halloween Day, Sunday, October 31 | FREE – The Pixar classic, CoCo, gets a screening on the Plaza at CityPlace in Spring, taking viewers through the world of the spirits that borders the real world, and what it means to remember loved ones we’ve lost. Face painters and other kids activities will also be on-hand. 6pm.
- 2021 Guide to Houston-area Pumpkin Patches | Ongoing – All autumn long, you can find places offering up the colorful gourds along with Fall Festival fun and family-friendly farm attractions like rides, slides and animal encounters. Days and times vary.
