- PurpleStride 5K at Houston Sports Park – Join the fight against pancreatic cancer by walking or running a 5K course at the PurpleStride fundraising event in Houston Sports Park. Registration starts at $30. 7am.
- Lindbergh Challenge at Lone Star Flight Museum – The Lone Star Flight Museum joins schools and organizations across the country to pay tribute to the legendary aviator, Charles Lindbergh, by accepting the Lindbergh Challenge. Members of the Civil Air Patrol and Boy Scouts will replicate his 33 ½ hour flight in one of the Museum’s Red Bird Simulators. This event is free with general admission to the museum. 7:50am.
- Houston Center for Photography Workshop at Levy Park | FREE – Learn the basics of photography every first and third Saturday of the month at Levy Park. In this workshop, participants will focus on capturing objects and people in motion. 9am to 10:30am.
- Hire Houston Youth 2018 On The Spot Hiring Events | FREE – Discover and apply for the perfect summer job at Hire Houston Youth’s on-the-spot hiring event, and initiative from Mayor Sylvester Turner in partnership with the local McDonald’s owners/operators of Greater Houston. 10am to 2pm.
- Pull for Puppies at City Centre – Play a competitive game of tug-of-war to raise funds for local pet charities across the country at Pull for Puppies in City Centre. $25. 11am.
- AFC Family Fun Festival in Cypress | FREE – Celebrate the grand opening of AFC Urgent Care Cypress at a family block party featuring free pizza and Chick-Fil-A chicken, child-friendly games, a moon walk, face painting, tons of giveaways, and more. 11am to 2pm.
- 14th Annual Empty Bowls Houston at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft – Have lunch at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft to support the fight against hunger during the 14th Annual Empty Bowls Houston fundraiser. Each participant will receive a simple meal of bread and soup, along with a one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl donated by local artists. Minimum donation of $25. 11am to 3pm.
- 2018 Karbach Cook-off at Karbach Brewery – Listen to live music from Bob Schneider, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, and Hal Ketchum, while feasting on unlimited food tastings and sipping craft brews at the 2018 Karbach Cook-off at Karbach Brewery. Noon to 10:30pm.
- Beyond the Pints Craft Beer & Music Fest at Town Green Park in The Woodlands – Taste craft beers from more than 30 breweries, enjoy live music from two stages, shop from local vendors, and nosh on bites from food trucks at Beyond the Pints Craft Beer and Music Fest in Town Green Park. Tickets start at $7, but limited comped tickets (you just pay the ticketing fee) are available. 1pm to 7pm.
- Della Barbato Book Signing at Barnes & Noble Vanderbilt Square | FREE – Hear from author and sexual abuse survivor Della Barbato, when she bravely shares her story and path to healing during a book signing at Barnes & Noble in Vanderbilt Square. 2pm to 4pm.
- Bayou Jamboree at Market Square Park | FREE – Celebrate Saturday New Orleans-style with beer, crawfish, Cajun eats, and plenty of horn-blowing at Market Square Park’s Bayou Jamboree. You’ll hear music from Bayou Roux and New Orleans Hustlers Brass Band, and eat Cajun grub from Downtown favorite Treebeards. 3pm to 7pm.
- A Savory Food Affair & Tasting Extravaganza at HCC West Loop – Spiritual Temple Church hosts a family friendly tasting event, with unlimited food and non-alcholic drinks, Christian comedy by Lady J, health and wellness information, vendors, a photo station, and more. $12; free for ages 3 and under. 5pm to 8pm.
- Flea by Night at Discovery Green | No Cover – Shop for everything from art to furniture and collectibles from a variety of vendors while enjoying live music and food trucks during Discovery Green’s Flea by Night. 6pm to 10pm.
- Bayou City Music Series featuring HSPVA Jazz Band at Buffalo Bayou | FREE – Kick back and enjoy a free, outdoor concert from the HSPVA Jazz Band as part of the Bayou City Music Series at Buffalo Bayou. The band features saxophonist Grady Gaines, who has recorded with icons like Little Richard and Sam Cooke, vocalist Trudy Lynn, and the 14-piece ThunderSoul Orchestra. 6:30pm to 9pm.
- Kendrick Lamar with Sza in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – Experience an epic concert by Pulitzer Prize- and Grammy Award-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar, when he takes the stage alongside Schoolboy Q, and SZA at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. Tickets start at $44, but you may find hard-to-get, cheaper, or better seats using the TicketNetwork resale marketplace. 7pm.
- Houston Whiskey Festival 2018 – Sip and socialize among fellow whiskey enthusiasts at the Houston Whiskey Festival at Bayou Place. Attendees can partake in educational seminars, relax in a cigar lounge, listen to live music, nibble light bites, and request recommendations from popular distilleries. 7pm to 10pm.
- Ars Lyrics presents A Day With Marie Antoinette at Hobby Center – Ars Lyrica concludes its season-long “Artful Women” series with a program built around France’s most famous queen. The show features a violin concerto, a Mozart flute quartet, a dance suite from Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice, and Haydn’s “Paris” Symphony No. 85. $39 to $65; $22 for students with ID. 7:30pm.
- Certified Funny Saturday with Comedian Lil Darrel at Grooves of Houston – Laugh it up at the comedy of Lil Darrel (aka Dope Nizzy), Raambo and DatDamnMonty at the May edition of B Smooth’s Certified Funny Saturdays. $20, but a limited number of discounted $10 tickets are available. 8pm.
- Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle Movie Screening at Discovery Green | FREE – Pack a blanket or a few lawn chairs and head to Discovery Green for a free screening of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, presented by Taquerias Arandas. 8:30pm to 10pm.
- The Late Show: Bathtub Full of Gin at Prohibition Supperclub – You’re in for a sexy, booze-filled evening when the Moonlight Dolls take the stage for this 1920’s show at Prohibition Supperclub. Tickets start at $20, but limited, discounted $10 tickets are available. 11:30pm.

- Drinkers with a Running Problem at B-52 Brewing | FREE – Work up a sweat as you run a 5K through B-52 Brewing’s forest and nearby neighborhood, then cool off with a cold beer at the brewery. 11:30am.
- East End Farmers Market | No Cover – Shop fresh fruits, veggies, and dairy products from seven local farms, along with other prepared foods and hand-crafted goods, at the East End Farmers Market on Navigation. Noon to 2pm.
- Chimney Rock Market | No Cover – Held on the first and third Sunday of the month near Anderson Park, Chimney Rock Market showcases art, gifts, produce, artisanal food and refreshments. Noon to 4pm.
- Crawfish Boil at Revelry on Richmond – Stuff your face with all-you-can-eat mudbugs during Revelry on Richmond’s weekly crawfish boil. Diners can also enjoy drink specials and patio games throughout the afternoon. 1pm.
- Italian Pasta Festival at Bayou City Event Center – More than 20 Houston-area restaurants and their chefs present their interpretations of Italy’s gift to the world: pasta at the Italian Pasta Festival. Tickets range from $25 to $35. 2pm to 5pm.
- Love Street Music Fest at Karbach Brewing Co. – Fulfill your love of live music with an all-star lineup of acts at Karbach Brewing Co.’s Love Street Music Fest. Sip cold brews during performances by Everclear, Cold War Kids, Bleachers, The Tontons, and The Unlikely Candidates. Tickets start at $30. 2pm.
