- Broadway at the Hobby Center presents Hamilton: An American Musical National Tour | Daily – Quickly book your tickets for Lin Manuel Miranda’s epic Broadway musical, Hamilton, a Tony-winning performance that’s taken the country by storm since its debut in 2015. Based on Ron Chernow’s biography, Hamilton uses hip-hop, rap, jazz, blues and more to tell the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Tickets start at $175, but you may find tickets for sold out shows, or better seats, on TicketNetwork’s resale marketplace. Showtimes vary.
- The Great American Trailer Park Musical at Stages Repertory Theatre | Daily – One of the most requested musicals in Stages Repertory Theatre history returns for the company’s 40th anniversary season. The show boasts tacky outfits, crude language, adultery, road kill, electrocution, and spray cheese. $25 to $68, but limited standard tickets (normally $42) are discounted to $21 for select shows. Showtimes vary.
- Cruzar la Cara de la Luna at the HGO Resilience Theater at George R. Brown Convention Center | Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday – Houston Grand Opera presents a bilingual production of Cruzar la Cara de la Luna (To Cross the Face of the Moon), a mariachi opera in Downtown. This moving immigration story chronicles the joys and struggles of three generations of a family divided between countries and cultures through the rich melodies of mariachi music. Tickets range from $15 to $155. Showtimes vary.
- The Barber of Seville at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE | Friday and Saturday – Discover the origins of Bugs Bunny’s famous opera lyrics, “Figaro, Figaro, Figaro” in this performance of The Barber in Seville. The musical comedy follows Count Almaviva as he enlists his friend, Figaro, to help him woo the lovely Rosina. 8pm nightly.
- ComedySportz Match Family-Friendly Improv Show at CSz Arena in EaDo | Friday and Saturday – ComedySportz presents a fast-paced comedy show suitable for the whole family. Much like , teams compete for points and laughs make up scenes, games, and songs on the spot with audience participation and suggestions incorporated into the act. $20, but limited discounted $14 tickets are available. 8pm.
- Houston Tattoo Arts Convention at NRG Park | Friday to Sunday – Get inked, meet celebrity tattoo artists, and shop tattoo memorabilia when Villain Arts brings its traveling Tattoo Arts Convention to Houston for the first time. Tickets start at $20. Times vary.
- Houston Astros vs. Cleveland Indians at Minute Maid Park | Friday to Sunday – Get loud for the Astros when they take the field to play the Indians in a home game at Minute Maid Park. Tickets start at $20, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. Times vary.
- Steve Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile at Alley Theatre | Friday to Sunday –Imagine Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein walk into a bar and the provocative conversations that would follow, in Steve Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Presented by Alley Theatre, this stage play has been called humorous, contemplative, and wholly imaginative. Tickets start at $26. Showtimes vary.
- Minefaire, a Minecraft Fan Experience at NRG Center | Saturday and Sunday – Minefare gamers unite for this two-day exhibition and ultimate fan experience at NRG Center. During the convention, you can meet YouTube creators, compete in tournaments, build battles, enter a costume contest, watch live stage shows, hear from Official Minecraft Education Global Mentors, and shop official merchandise. 10am to 5pm both days.
- The Great Texas BBQ Festival at Post HTX | Saturday and Sunday – Part barbecue throwdown, part music festival and part beer bonanza, this brand new festival will feature some of Texas’ names in bbq, beer, and music at Post HTX. Weekend passes start at $40. Noon each day.
- Daddy Long Legs at Main Street Theater | Saturday and Sunday – See a musical performance based on the treasured novel, Daddy Long Legs, at Main Street Theatre. The two-person show follows a classic “rags-to-riches” love story of a bright young woman and her mysterious benefactor. Tickets start at $10. Showtimes vary.

- Stars & Stripes at the Lawn at Memorial City | FREE – Check out Memorial City’s newest green space, The Lawn, at this special event to honor our country, the military, and their families. JROTC color guard and military programs will perform patriotic tributes as a solo trumpeter plays a rotating roster of American classics. 5pm to 5:30pm.
- Neon Marty Dance Party at Art League Houston – Make your way over to Art League Houston’s Montrose Art Party featuring music by Flash Gordon Parks, delectable bites, a cash bar, and an exhibition of work by artists in the Healing Art program, as well as a silent auction.
