  • Freedmen’s Town Farmers Market in Fourth Ward | No Cover – Stop through historic Freedmen’s Town to shop local goods, fresh ingredients, artisan works and more from Black-owned businesses at this farmers market near Downtown. 9am to 2pm.
  • Houston Montrose Market on West Alabama | No Cover – Start your morning with shopping from a slew of artisan vendors while supporting area businesses when the Houston Montrose Market opens on West Alabama near Montrose Boulevard. 10am to 2pm.
  • Saturday in Smither Park | FREE – Head to the ever-evolving Smither Park next to The Orange Show to take in the latest installations and see local folk artists working on the intricate sculpting and mosaic work that helps shape one of Houston’s most unique parks. 10am to 4pm.
  • Just Plane Fun! Spring Break at Lone Star Flight Museum Kick off Spring Break with a week full of flight simulations, science activities, crafts, talks with pilots, live bird appearances, an homage to Ellington Field and more, when Lone Star Flight Museum hosts Just Plane Fun! $14.95; $12.95 for ages 12 to 17 and ages 65 and up; $9.95 for ages 4 to 11; free for ages 3 and under; free for museum members. This event kicks off Saturday, March 13 and runs through Saturday, March 20, 2021. 10am to 5pm.
  • St. Patrick’s Brunch & Crawfish Boil at B.B. Lemon Don your best green outfit while enjoying mudbugs from Jeff Baron’s NOLA recipe, live music, drink specials and more at B.B. Lemon on Washington Ave. Menu item prices vary. 11am to 4pm.
  • Second Saturday at Sawyer Yards | No Cover – Tour more than 350 open art studios, explore an outdoor makers market, and grab a craft brew with friends and family at the six studio buildings on the Sawyer Yards campus. Noon to 5pm.
  • St. Patty’s Market at Texas Leaguer Brewing Company | No Cover – Get in the St. Patty’s spirit while shopping from local vendors and artisans at Texas Leaguer Brewery’s St. Patty’s Market in Missouri City. Noon to 5pm.
  • Asymmetry of Entropy at Site Gallery in Sawyer Yards | FREE – Experience what it’s like to enter a black hole when Sawyer Yards hosts Daniel B. Fuller’s experimental and interactive art installation that guides guests into the vast and utter darkness of the black hole using LED lighting and mirrors. Noon to 5pm.
  • Second Saturdays HTX Market at NettBar | No Cover – Shop from more than 20 area vendors while browsing artisan goods, artwork and more, when HTX Market sets up at Nettbar’s parking lot near Washington Ave. Noon to 5pm.
  • 13th Anniversary at Southern Star Brewing Company | No Cover – Celebrate 13 years of tasty local beer when Southern Star Brewing Company commemorates their anniversary with tasty food truck fare from Tacos in Low Places and live music from Folk Family Revival, Winston Cook and The Homebrewed Brass Ensemble. Noon to 10pm.
  • BLCK Market at Buffalo Soldier National Museum | No Cover – Shop from more than 50 Black small businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans, and vendors at the BLCK Market taking place in the Museum District. 1pm to 5pm.
  • CAMH presents Virtual Drop-In Experience: One Minute Meditation | FREE | Virtual – Catch your breath while taking part in a short virtual meditation to clear your mind, hosted by the Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston on their website. 1pm.
  • Eco-printing Two Ways at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center Learn how to make instant “eco-prints” using leaves and watercolor paint during a virtual workshop from Houston Arboretum where guests will explore the Arboretum to gather dye plants and other botanicals to create eco-printed paper. $65 for nonmembers; $40 for members. 1pm to 4pm.
  • Family Magic & Comedy for All Ages with Carter Blackburn at Houston Improv Enjoy a mystical afternoon that bridges comedy and magic with a family-friendly set from Carter Blackburn that features a mixture of audience participation, magic tricks, illusions, juggling, sleight of hand, and more at Houston Improv. $20 for two people; $40 for four; $60 for six. 1pm.
  • Crawfish by Saigon House at Axelrad | No Cover – Get your mudbug fix when beloved Vietnamese restaurant Saigon House serves up some delicious crawfish alongside cold beer and more, during a pop-up at Axelrad’s beer garden in Midtown. No cover, but food and drinks are on you. Crawfish starts at 3pm until they sell out.
  • Brazos Bookstore presents Author Toni Buzzeo on Zoom | FREE | Virtual – Join Brazos Bookstore for a virtual conversation featuring author Toni Buzzeo of When Sue Found Sue, about paleontologist Sue Hendrickson’s discovery of the largest T. Rex skeleton to date, as well as author Rosanne Parry. This event is free, but you must register. 3pm.
  • Hold On Hollywood in Concert at Scout Bar Hear a heavy set from H-Town rock band Hold On Hollywood when they take the stage at Scout Bar in the Bay Area to pump out the jams. Post Profit, Riot The Witness, and This Side of Fate open the show. $10 in advance; $15 at the door and $50 for a reserved table. 6pm.
  • David Ramirez in Concert at The Heights Theater Get a dose of singer-songwriter goodness when musician David Ramirez brings his songsmith craftsmanship to the The Heights Theater for a socially distanced concert. Doors open 30 minutes before the show. $28 to $384. 6pm.
  • Underbelly Hospitality presents Chris Shepherd’s Cookbook Club: Pull Up a Chair Virtual Class Hear from Chef Chris Shepherd in the fourth installation of his Cookbook Club series, when he’s joined by Saved By The Bell and 90210 actress, Tiffani Thiessen, who will discuss her latest cookbook, Pull Up a Chair: Recipes from My Family to Yours. Kits include all ingredients to cook along the live class, and a copy of the book. $150; feeds two people. 6pm to 8pm.
  • Sue Foley in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck | Virtual Option –  Swing through Upper Kirby for an evening of blues tunes when Canadian singer and guitarist Sue Foley takes the stage at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck. There will also be a live stream on the Duck’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. $120 for four people; $180 for six people; $30 to support the artist virtually, though it will be viewable for free on YouTube. 7pm.
  • Rodeo at Revelry on Richmond | No Cover – Put on your boots and get a taste of rodeo fun when Revelry on Richmond throws their first-ever Rodeo at Revelry featuring live country tunes, a mechanical bull, an outdoor dance floor for socially distanced two-stepping, and even a rodeo-themed menu. 7pm to 11pm; live music ends at 11pm; Revelry will remain open until 2am.
  • Sugar Land Movie Night Drive-In: The Croods: A New Age Screening at Crown Festival Park Head back to the Stoneage during a movie screening at The Sugar Land Movie Night Drive-In of the 2020 animated family flick, The Croods: A New Age, about a prehistoric family in search of a safer home than the dinosaur-filled territory they currently call home. $20 per car; tickets must be purchased online in advance. No tickets will be sold at the gate. 7:30pm.
  • The Riot Comedy Show: NYC Comedian Ian Lara at Rudyard’s British Pub Fall out of your chair laughing to a hilarious stand-up set from comedian Ian Lara, a rising star in New York City known for his recent appearances on Comedy Central Standup Featuring and his latest special, LA meets NY on HBO. $20 to $80; reserved Date Night tables for two start at $35 and include VIP options; reserved Double Date tables for four are $60. 8pm and 10pm.
  • Breakfast at Tiffany’s in Concert at The Rustic Downtown | No Cover – Hear some of your favorite tracks from ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, and more, when local cover band Breakfast at Tiffany’s takes the stage to perform live in the heart of Downtown at The Rustic. 9:30pm to 11pm.
  • The 8th Wonder Follies: A Night of Boozy Burlesque at 8th Wonder Distillery Happening on the 8th Wonder Distillery Stage and featuring classic acts from Houston’s best burlesque artists, The 8th Wonder Follies presents a thrilling evening of intimate performances and rowdy fun. Ages 21 and up. Two drink minimum. $35. 10:30pm. 10:30pm.

  • Houston Heights Market on White Oak Drive | No Cover – Start your morning market hunt at this popular local vendor market that takes place at Onion Creek Cafe and at the corner of Studewood and White Oak. Between the two locations, just a few blocks apart, you’ll find artisan jewelry, clothing and other goods alongside ready-made foods and a special array of local vendors. 10am to 3pm.
  • Pi Day at Little Woodrow’s EaDo | No Cover – Eat pizza and be merry during Little Woodrow’s in EaDo’s Pi Day celebration which features big slices of their delicious pizza for only $3.14 a slice. 11am.
  • Bingo on the Lawn at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center Shout “Bingo!” while enjoying a fun morning in the sun when the Houston Arboretum hosts a friendly game of Bingo where guests can win small prizes after competing on the Nature Center’s Lawn. Blankets, daubers, and lawn chairs are encouraged. $25 for nonmembers; $20 for members; $10 for children 17 and under. 11am to 12:30pm.
  • Waffle House Brunch Takeover at UB Preserv Get your down-home breakfast favorites when Chef Chris Shepherd takes over brunch at UB Preserv with Waffle House mainstays including smothered, covered, scattered, and diced hashbrowns, Underbelly-style. Menu prices vary and you must register for this event in advance 11am to 3pm.
  • Wanderlust Market HTX at HTX Sports Creek | No Cover – Get outdoors while shopping from more than 30 vendors and enjoying live music, an outdoor bar, games and more. 11am to 4pm.
  • Vintage Street Fest: Checks vs. Stripes in EaDo | FREE – Don your best pair of Nikes or Adidas while shopping from area vintage vendors at the 2nd annual Checks vs. Stripes Vintage Street Fest in EaDo. Noon to 6pm.
  • Irish Stew Cook-Off at Penny Whistle Pub | No Cover – Get into the spirit of St. Patty’s Day during an afternoon of cook-off fun, live music from bagpipe players and Ruckus Music, crawfish by the pound, specials on Irish drinks and more, when Penny Whistle Pub in Montrose opens early for their Irish Stew Cookoff. There is no cover, but an optional Irish stew tasting pass is $5 and includes unlimited amounts and a chance to vote for your favorite. Registration is required for teams to compete in the cook-off. 1pm to 8pm.
  • Morgan McKay in Concert at The Rustic Downtown | No Cover – Enjoy an early evening set of tasteful country music when soul singer-songwriter Morgan McKay takes the stage to perform live in the heart of Downtown at The Rustic. 4pm to 6pm.
  • Writespace presents Honoring the Body: Narratives of Illness and Health on Zoom | Virtual – Learn how to write an essay that takes the form of self-discovery during a virtual workshop from Writespace where guests will find the focus of their body narrative on Zoom. $25 for non-members; $20 for members. After Tuesday, March 9, 2021, $30 for non-members; $25 for members. 4pm to 6pm.
  • Snit’s Dog & Pony Show in Concert at The Rustic Post Oak | No Cover – Rock out during an energetic in-person set when The Rustic on Post Oak welcomes local rock and roll act, Snit’s Dog & Pony Show for a live performance.  4pm to 6pm.
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Screening at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Shout “cowabunga!” while watching the epic, high-flying 1990 family-friendly story of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when Alamo Drafthouse in Katy hosts a screening of the classic flick. Ticket purchases also include a premium TMNT enamel pin created by Mondo Pin. $12.99. 6:15pm.
  • Houston Rockets vs. Boston Celtics at Toyota Center NBA All-Stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown lead the Boston Celtics to Downtown Houston to take on the Rockets. Tickets range from $25 to over $310 but you may find better or cheaper seats on the TicketNetwork marketplace.  This game is also broadcast on AT&T SportsNet-SW. 7pm.
  • On the Basis of Sex Movie Screening at Axelrad | No Cover – Hit the backyard beer garden in Midtown to enjoy a free outdoor screening of On the Basis of Sex, the 2018 film about the true story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her struggles for equal rights. 7pm.
  • Bosslady’s Pop-Up Marketplace at Sharespace Downtown (Postponed) Shop til’ you drop and support local female-owned businesses at this Women’s History Month-motivated market featuring door prizes, live DJ and more. $7; free for ages 10 and under. 7:30pm to 10pm. This event has been postponed to a new date to be determined in the future. 
  • The Gumbo Jam at Darwin’s Pub | No Cover – Kick back while dining and jamming out to the laid back sounds of Team Horn Section when they take to the stage at Darwin’s Pub for a Louisiana-inspired jam off of Washington Ave. 8pm.
