  • Boo’s Burgers Pop-Up at Shipley’s Do-Nuts (Postponed) – Award-winning chef Joseph Boudreaux brings a special Boo’s Burgers menu to Shipley’s Do-Nuts on Ardmore Street, near Old Spanish Trail, in a collaboration with an historic Houston franchise. Come by to enjoy morning specialties, visit with reps from Meow Wolf, and more. 7:13am ’til sellout.
  • Houston Rockets presents 713 Day of Basketball at Fonde Community Center (Canceled) | FREE – A week of basketball clinics with current and former NBA players culminates at this community celebration near Downtown. Free tickets required (processing fees apply). 10am.
  • 22nd Birthday Bash at Friends for Life Animal Shelter (Canceled) | FREE – The Heights shelter throws a birthday party with games, activities, food, drinks and more. Come out and be part of the fun, and see the important work the organization does for the Houston community. RSVP requested. 10am to 3pm.
  • 713 Day & Alotta Michelada at 8th Wonder Brewery (Confirmed) – The EaDo brewery hosts its second annual Michelada Mix-Off, giving you access to more than 20 Michelada challengers, plus 3 beverage tokens and a souvenir pint glass. Good Market HTX will also be on-site with local vendors, and you can take in live music and a Donkeeboy surprise. $35 and up. Noon to 4pm.
  • 713 Day Volunteer Shift at Houston Food Bank East Branch (Confirmed) | FREE – In honor of 713 Day, the food bank hosts this public volunteer session. Those who sign up for a shift will work alongside friends from the Houston Dynamo, and be included in a post-volunteer celebration with food, music, ice cream and other surprises. 1pm to 4pm.
  • The Big Slide Show at Lawndale Art Center (Postponed Two Weeks) | FREE – Artists who are part of the center’s annual The Big Show exhibition give short presentations about their work. This is an opportunity to hear directly from artists, ask questions and learn about the creative process. 2pm to 4pm.
  • Saint Arnold 713 Day Downtown Pub Crawl (Confirmed) | No Cover – The popular pub crawl through Downtown Houston returns for 713 Day, sending you through seven stops before ending at Market Square Park for the We Heart Hou concert. Locations include Flying Saucer, McIntyre’s, Angel Share, Little Dipper and others. Once you punch your card at each of the seven, you can go pick up a commemorative pint glass. 2pm to 6pm.
  • Christmas in July at Pearland Market Days (Confirmed) | FREE – Spend the afternoon watching Christmas movies, shopping for gifts from vendors, enjoying kids activities and food trucks, taking photos with Santa and more. The temperature might not feel like the holidays, but this event will get you into the Christmas spirit. 2pm to 8pm.
  • 713 Day: Paul Wall & Lil’ Keke in Concert at Home Run Dugout (Postponed) – The H-Town rap legends join forces for a night of Houston celebration at the Katy baseball bar, which also hosts an exotic and custom car show along with exclusive merch, and more. $40 and up. 2pm to midnight.
  • Toy Designer Stefanie Eskander at Houston Toy Museum (Postponed) – The toy designer comes to Houston for a meet-and-greet, sharing stories about her nearly four decades in the industry. She’ll discuss how a toy is developed from concept to production and share experiences working on lines like Rainbow Brite, WWF Buddies, Cabbage Patch Kids and more. $14. 3pm.
  • DIY Dairy at Houston Arboretum & Nature Center (Postponed) – Learn how to make queso fresco and homemade “churned” butter in this hands-on class. It’s a chance to explore kitchen chemistry and see what you can do at home. Wearing clothes that can get messy and walking shoes is advised. $50. 3pm to 5pm.
  • 7-Year Anniversary at BLCK Market (Confirmed) | FREE – The Houston homegrown marketplace celebrates 7 years of shopping Black-owned businesses with a Downtown celebration at the Greenstreet location with music, food, art and great vibes. Limited free tickets available; $5 at the door. 4pm to 8pm.
  • 16th Annual Juried Exhibition at Archway Gallery (Confirmed) | FREE – Each year an invited juror selects works by local artists for the month-long exhibition at the Montrose gallery. This year’s juror is acclaimed artist Lydia Bodnar-Balahutrak. She’ll share remarks and hand out awards during the opening reception. The evening benefits Trees for Houston, which will also be giving away seedlings. 5pm to 8pm.
  • 713 Day: We Heart HOU Music Series at Market Square Park (Confirmed) | FREE – The historic Market Square Park hosts a special 713 Day edition of the We Heart Hou music series, featuring live tunes from Aire Fresco and EZ Band, plus a market space with more than 20 vendors doling out unique crafts, food, and refreshing drinks to enjoy on the lawn. 5pm to 8pm.
  • Summer Nights at Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (Confirmed) – Enjoy the museum after hours as this popular program returns. Guests can explore all galleries and exhibitions, chat with curators, grab a cocktail and listen to music. Entry includes one complimentary drink per admission ticket. Food and drink specials are also available at the museum’s two restaurants, Cafe Leonelli and Le Jardinier. $40. 6pm to 9pm.
  • 713 Day with DJ Michael Watts 5000 at Social Beer Garden (Confirmed) | No Cover – The Midtown beer garden welcomes DJ Michael Watts 5000 for 713 Day, spinning Houston hits all night, alongside food and drink specials, double cup specials with Crown and Hennessy, Frozen Purple Drank, and support by DJ Vic G and DJ SK. 6pm to 1am.
  • Strand Summer Series: Roman Holiday Movie Screening at Hendley Green (Postponed One Week) | FREE – The monthly summer movie series in Galveston offers a screening of this classic 1953 rom-com starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn. It’s the story of a princess who escapes the confines of the palace and finds adventure with a down-on-his-luck reporter. But is he the gentleman he appears to be? And will she stay with him or return to her royal life? 6:30pm to 9pm.
  • 24th Anniversary Bash at Continental Club (Confirmed) – Houston’s longest-running and rowdiest rock and roll club throws itself an anniversary party in Mid-Main. The lineup includes Jane Woe, Xanadudes, Lonesome Haunts, and many more. $10 and up. 7pm.
  • New Kids on the Block in Concert at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion (Confirmed) – Take it back to the ’80s with one of the O.G. boy bands, New Kids on the Block, when they hit the Woodlands crowd with the “Right Stuff.” Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff get the party started. $22 and up. 7pm.
  • Hot Nights, Cool Grooves at City Place (Confirmed) | FREE – Enjoy a night at the City Place waterfront in Spring, where a lively showcase by Tomar and the FCs and Bayou City Funk will provide the summer vibes. Look for pop-ups including food trucks, fruit samples from The Peach Truck, beer giveaways from Saint Arnold, photo opportunities, giveaways and other surprise activations. 7pm.
  • Impact Houston Live Taping at Discovery Green (Canceled) | FREE – Be in the audience for a live taping of this radio show that deals with the arts, culture and more. The show airs on KTSU on Saturday mornings, and is hosted by Donna Franklin, Chris Johnson & Marcus Session. 7pm.
  • Reja Soul at Equal Parts Brewing (Confirmed) – Celebrate the local Houston community of artists, designers and DJs with a night of live music, fashion, and contemporary art. The Second Ward brewery will also have board games, a photo booth, and a complimentary drink from the taproom for the first 50 tickets sold. $10 and up. 7pm to 11pm.
  • Houston Dynamo FC vs. Minnesota United FC at Shell Energy Stadium(Confirmed) The Dynamo close out 713 Day with a match against Minny, featuring Houston celebrations throughout the night, including a pre-game slab show on Orange Avenue beginning at 4pm. $21 and up. 7:30pm.
  • Fuerza Regida in Concert at Toyota Center (Confirmed) – The genre-crossing regional Mexican band brings songs like “Una Cerveza” and “Billete Grande” to Houston in a huge show. $130 and up. 8pm.

  • Galveston’s Own Farmers Market at the Depot on Market (Confirmed) | FREE – Known for happening rain or shine, Galveston’s warm and friendly farmers market lives up to the hype and returns with fresh local produce, croissants, coffee, spices, meat, eggs, and more. The market also accepts SNAP. 9am to noon.
  • Bastille Day at Brasserie 19 (Confirmed) | No Cover – Champagne house Moët Hennessy highlights this extra-special afternoon filled with specialty cocktails, bubbles, brunch-sized bottles, raffles, swag, DJ FXBoxOlmos spinning French discothèque tunes, and food specials. Fashionable French chic attire encouraged. 11am to 4:30pm.
  • Summer Cookout at Hamsa (Confirmed) – The Rice Village restaurant’s chef Yotam Dolev and chef Dominick Lee combine the flavors of Tel Aviv and New Orleans in this event that celebrates the cookouts they grew up experiencing. Family-style dishes like blackened chicken kebab with black tahini sauce and charred tomato, lemon harissa Gulf shrimp grits with Louisiana chow chow, and more are on the menu. $65 per person. Noon to 7pm.
  • Tex-Mex BBQ Block Party 2024 at Saint Arnold Brewing Company (Canceled) – Barbecue enthusiasts won’t want to miss this cult favorite event, showcasing the growing influence of Tejano and Tex-Mex cooking traditions in Central Texas–style barbecue. Think brisket chimichangas, smoked pork shoulder pozole, and bbq tacos with all the proper fixin’s. $70 and up. 1pm to 4pm.
  • 1% Skynyrd in Concert at Warehouse Live Midtown (Confirmed) | FREE – Experience a tribute to the legendary rock act Lynyrd Skynyrd with this performance that includes the iconic band’s hits. Rock out all afternoon long in Midtown. 3pm.
  • The Art of Books with Artist Julianne Mahler at Village Books (Sold Out) – The Conroe bookstore hosts the artist, who will teach you how to make your very own folded book artwork. You’ll discover how to fold the pages to create a heart. This event is limited to 15 people and registration is required. $50. 3pm to 5pm.
  • Bastille Day at Etoile (Confirmed) – Enjoy a special four-course menu from chef Philippe Verpiand at the restaurant’s annual Fête de la Bastille. You’ll indulge in terrific French cuisine and can upscale your dinner with wine pairings. $88. 5pm to 9pm.
  • Bastille Day Celebration at Rice Stadium (Confirmed) | FREE – Celebrate France’s national day with an evening of dancing, thrilling sports activities, and delectable cuisine that showcases the rich diversity of the Francophone world. 5pm to 10pm.
  • Chef David Cordúa Kitchen Takeover at Wooster’s Garden (Postponed) | No Cover – The chef and owner of The Lymbar creates a hand-crafted menu for this one night–only event in Midtown. 6pm.
  • Texas New Music Festival at MATCH | Ongoing – Across this eight-day event, more than 50 composers, choreographers and instrumentalists will present 28 world premieres. It’s an opportunity to see vibrant and diverse styles, and celebrate the creative process. This production runs through Sunday, July 21. $20 and up. Showtimes vary.
  • Comedian Myq Kaplan at the Secret Group (Confirmed) – Fresh off the 2023 summer release of Live From the Universe, Kaplan arrives in EaDo for his new special, Before We Get Started, where he offers advice to his past self on subjects ranging from traditional marriage to polyamory, quantum mechanics to psychedelics, Moby Dick to Nintendo, and beyond. $15 and up. 7pm.
  • The Baseball Project at White Oak Music Hall (Canceled) – The alt-rock supergroup, made up of former members of bands like R.E.M. and the Minus 5, perform baseball-inspired tunes from their recent release, Grand Salami Time! $25. 7pm.
