- WorldFest-Houston Independent Film Festival at AMC Studio 30 | Daily – Catch one of the many independent films being showcased at the 50th Annual WorldFest-Houston. Prices and times vary.
- Latin Wave Film Festival at the MFAH | Daily – Explore the world at screenings of nine remarkable films from and about Latin America at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s 12th Annual Latin Wave film festival. General admission is $10. MFAH Members, students with ID, and ages 65 and up receive a $2 discount. Students with ID receive complimentary admission to films screening on Sunday, April 30, 2017. Times vary each day.
- Da Camera Mix at The MATCH | Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 – Da Camera is teaming up with The MATCH to put on ten concerts over five days that will showcase a mix of jazz, classical and contemporary music from artists around the globe. Tickets for individual sets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door; tickets for both sets on the same evening are $30 in advance, $35 at the door; all access passes are $120 7:30pm to 9pm each day.
- Outdoor Frida Festival at Navigation Esplanade | Friday and Saturday – Stop by the Navigation Esplanade for loteria games, an art exhibition, and outdoor market at this festival celebrating iconic artist Frida Kahlo. Friday 5pm to 10pm; Saturday 10am to 10pm.
- Houston Astros vs. Oakland Athletics at Minute Maid Park | Friday to Sunday – Get loud for the Astros when they take the field to play Oakland in a three-game series at Minute Maid Park. Tickets start at $15, but you may find cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale site. Friday 7:10pm; Saturday 6:10pm; Sunday 1:10pm.
- Preservation Houston’s Good Brick Tour 2017 | Saturday and Sunday – Join Preservation Houston and discover some of Houston’s hidden historic treasures during the 2017 Good Brick Tour. $25. Noon to 5pm both days.
- BP MS150 | Saturday and Sunday – Bike from Houston to Austin with more than 10,000 other cyclists in this annual fundraiser supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. $130. 6:45am both days.
- Texas Crawfish Festival at Preservation Park | Saturday and Sunday – Head to Old Town Spring for weekend-long festival full of country music, activities for the kids, Zydeco acts and lots of crawfish. Tickets start at $5. Saturday noon to midnight; Sunday noon to 6pm.
- Houston Rockets Tickets on Sale | Sponsored – Save on Rockets games with cheaper or better seats on TicketNetwork’s resale market.

- Dining Out for Life at Restaurants Around Houston – Eat out at participating Houston area restaurants to support AIDS Foundation Houston through the annual fundraiser Dining Out For Life. Prices and locations vary. All day.
- Freedom Train at Miller Outdoor Theatre | FREE – Watch this play based on the true story of a woman and her son’s journey to escape a Texas plantation via the Underground Railroad at Miller Outdoor Theatre. 11am.
- Breakfast at Tiffany’s in Concert at Market Street in The Woodlands | FREE – Head to The Woodlands to hear a free show from Breakfast at Tiffany’s cover band at Market Street. 6pm to 8:30pm.
- Red Baraat in Concert at Discovery Green | FREE – Attend a free concert from eight-piece Brooklyn band Red Baraat at Discovery Green. 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
- Masks and Modernité: Dogon Now at The Menil Collection | FREE – Curator Paul R. Davis presents film excerpts of dances performed during agricultural, funerary ceremonies and performances for tourists with the surreal and colorful masks of Dogon people. 7pm to 8pm.
- Bond & Beyond Concert at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion – The Houston Symphony will bring the sounds of the James Bond film series to The Woodlands’ outdoor amphitheater. $20; select seats are free. 8pm.
