- Holiday Story Time at Brazos Bookstore | FREE – Brazos Children’s Specialist Laura G hosts the first of four holiday story times, reading from Susan Cooper’s The Shortest Day and The Lights That Dance in the Night by Yuval Zommer. 10:30am.
- Black Swan Yoga on the Skylawn at Post Houston | FREE – Join Black Swan Yoga for a morning session among the skyscrapers of Downtown Houston. Bring your own mat, toyel and water bottle. 11am.
- Intempo Dance presents The Nutcracker at Children’s Museum Houston – Dance through the land of the Sugarplum Fairy with Intempo Dance Ensemble as they bring a preview of The Nutcracker to Museum District. $15 for ages 1 and up. 11am to 1:30pm.
- 7th Year Anniversary Celebration at SpindleTap Brewery | No Cover – The North Houston brewery hosts an all-day family-friendly celebration that includes several new beer releases, including a new barrel-aged stout and triple IPA, plus a live DJ, food trucks, and more. No cover, but party packages, which include an anniversary 4-pack and commemorative glass, are $25 and up. 11am to 10pm.
- College Football: Houston Cougars vs. Tulsa Golden Hurricane at TDECU Stadium – The Coogs football squad hosts the final game of the regular season on Senior Day and Fan Appreciation Day. $15 and up. Time TBD.
- College Basketball: Houston Cougars vs. Kent State at Fertitta Center – The red hot Coogs basketball team will get a look at Kent State on their home court. $20 and up, but you may find hard-to-get seats using the TicketNetwork online marketplace. Timed TBD.
- Japanese Maki Rolls Cooking Class at William Price Distilling Company – All skill levels are welcome at this cooking class at the Garden Oaks distillery, where you can learn how to craft Japanese maki rolls for a sushi night at home. $55. Noon to 2pm.
- Holiday in the Plaza at CityCentre | FREE – Visit with Santa and two of his reindeer while you enjoy holiday classic from the Houston Show Choir and more at the Memorial City shopping and dining hub. Free, but bring a new, unwrapped toy to be donated for a complimentary photo with Santa. Noon to 5pm.
- Small Business Saturday Holiday Market at Sugar Land Town Square | FREE – Shop from more than 65 artists, creatives and makers while you enjoy holiday entertainment, live music and dining at nearby restaurants. Noon to 5pm.
- 12 Years, No One Cares Anniversary Bash at No Label Brewing Co. | No Cover – Celebrate a dozen years of craft brewing at the Katy brewery’s birthday bash that includes live music, food trucks, beer releases, an appearance by Santa, and more. Noon to 11pm.
- BLCK Market Pop-Up: Small Business Saturday at East River | FREE – Get a head start on your holiday shopping at BLCK Market’s Small Business Saturday edition, which provides an assortment of Black-owned, local businesses, vendors and creators to shop from. 1pm to 5pm.
- Holiday Cocktail Making Class at Blossom Hotel Houston – Learn to mix up holiday cheer, in the form of egg nog, Brandy Alexander, and a holiday punch in a one-hour class at the Museum District boutique hotel, $30. 2pm.
- Baby Shark Live: The Christmas Show! at Smart Financial Centre – The beloved children’s characters, Baby Shark and Pinkfong, come to life in a one-of-a-kind immersive experience going into the jungle and under the sea to explore shapes, colors, numbers and more. The show features hit songs, including “Baby Shark,” “Five Little Monkeys,” “Wheels On The Bus,” and “Monkey Banana Dance,” plus holiday classics like “Jingle Bells” and more. $39.50 and up. 2pm.
- Letsdothishouston: Night Light Bike Ride to Post Houston – Hit the streets of Houston on two wheels at this night light ride that starts in Third Ward and ends at Post Houston in Downtown. Stick around for food, drinks and mingling. $11; $28.50 including a bike rental. 4:30pm to 8pm.
- Holiday Tree Lighting & ArtWalk in Downtown Galveston | FREE – Head to Saengerfest Park in Galveston’s Strand district for the annual lighting of the Christmas tree, plus see Santa and participate in the Galveston Art Center’s ArtWalk where you can tour local galleries and enjoy live entertainment throughout Downtown. 6pm to 8pm.
