A.D. Players: A Texas Carol Part Deux at The George Theater | Opens Wednesday A Texas Carol proved so popular for the theater, they’re mounting a sequel, which finds the Dinkel family back at Mee-Maw’s ranch, two years after we last left them. Ginny and Hugo are getting married, but Hugo is stuck in Dallas. That’s just the beginning of hilarity and hijinks. $20 and up. Showtimes vary.

Space Explorers: The Infinite at Sawyer Yards | Thursday to Saturday | Final Weekend – The immersive VR experience inspired by NASA missions aboard the International Space Station (ISS) is departing after next Saturday, November 30, but there’s still time to see never-before-seen 360-degree videos captured in space, explore the ISS, and experience life as an astronaut before the epic installation ends its Houston run. $29 and up. Times vary.

64th Annual Autorama at the George R. Brown Convention Center | Thursday to Sunday – Check out all things related to cars, driving and the future of automobiles at this weekend festival. There’s a special tribute to Evel Kneivel, a transforming robot car and a lowrider showcase. $27 and up. Times vary.

Nutcracker Market at Moody Gardens | Friday & Saturday Southern Style Event invites you to embark on a day of endless shopping delights, including boutiques, jewelry, gourmet food, holiday decor, and plenty of unique gifts. $5; free for ages 10 and under. Friday 3pm to 7pm; Saturday 9am to 4pm.

Comics Ric Diez, Heath Cordes & Enrique Chacón at Punch Line Houston | Friday and Saturday – Downtown’s newest comedy destination hosts a trio of familiar voices from the Austin-based Kill Tony podcast for 4 live sets over 2 nights. $32 and up. 9:15pm.

50th Annual Texas Renaissance Festival in Todd Mission | Friday to Sunday | Final Weekend  – Wrapping up its 50th season, this week’s final themed  Ren Fest weekend is a 3-day Celtic Christmas starting on Black Friday. $30 and up for single-day tickets; $15 for ages 5 to 12. 9am to 7pm daily.

Catastrophic Theatre: Love Bomb at MATCH | Friday to Sunday – This world premiere by Brian Jucha is about, well, let’s say, taxi dancers. Even if it isn’t. It is about what people will do for love, and it features music by ‘70s folk pop star Melanie (Think “the Roller Skates song.” Pay-What-You-Can; $35 suggested. Showtimes vary.

4th Wall Theatre Company: Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike at Spring Street Studios | Friday to Sunday  – Christopher Durang’s comedy is the story of middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia, living an uneventful life in Pennsylvania. Then, their sister Masha shows up with her much-younger love, Spike. Chaos ensues. $32 and up. Showtimes vary.

Sazon Latin Food Festival at Karbach Brewing Co. | Saturday & Sunday | FREE – Savor the rich flavors of Latin cuisine, with vendors offering up foods from the Caribbean, and Central and South America, showcasing the diversity of Latin flavors. Music, drinks and more are planned. 11am to 6pm.

Pearland Restaurant Weeks | Ends Saturday – Throughout November, Pearland restaurants feature curated menus and specialty offerings, with a portion of every order supporting the Pearland Neighborhood Center. Enjoy fixed-price menus at $20 for 2-course breakfasts and lunches, and $35 for 3-course dinners. Hours and locations vary.

Christmas & Holiday Theater Shows in Houston | Daily – Find more holiday favorites like the Alley’s A Christmas Carol and Ensemble’s The Twelve Ways of Christmas which are both now playing and check out upcoming shows coming to the stage this season.

Meow Wolf Houston: Radio Tave in Fifth Ward | Daily – Now open next to Saint Arnold Brewing Company, the highly anticipated interactive, immersive art experience tells many interweaving stories of interdimensional exploration and the intersection of the supernatural and mundane at fictional radio station ETNL. $40 and up. Green Mountain Energy Ice at Discovery Green | Daily – Lace up your skate rentals and head out onto the ice at the beloved winter tradition in the heart of Houston’s official front yard. $18 includes skate rentals for 75 minutes. Tickets must be ordered in advance online. Times vary.

Magical Winter Lights at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds | Daily – Now at a new location, Magical Winter Lights continues showcasing artistry to delight families and photographers with 60 giant illuminated lanterns, millions of holiday lights, and carnival rides. $27 and up. Times vary.

Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt at The Woodlands Children’s Museum – Kids can embark on a Turkey Day-inspired scavenger hunt. Included with museum admission, which is $9 for ages 1 and up. 9:30am to 2pm.

Friendsgiving Buffet at Urbe – Indulge in original takes on Thanksgiving favorites from the Uptown restaurant celebrating street foods of Mexico. $39. 5pm to 9pm.

Jive Turkey Comedy Jam at Houston Improv – Houston’s own Ali Siddiq leads Thanksgiving eve comedy lineup, including Marcus D. Wiley, Grossman, Dave Lawson, Se7en the Poet, and Billy Sorrels. $160 for a table for 4 and up. 7:30pm.

The Front Bottoms in Concert at House of Blues – The New Jersey rock band known for “Twin Size Mattress,” “Be Nice to Me,” and “Cough It Out” play the Downtown music hall stage. $49.25 and up. 7pm.

Friendsgiving at The Rustic Downtown & Uptown Park | No Cover – Both locations host an evening of live music, food and drinks in anticipation of the big holiday. 7pm to 11pm. 

Comedian Jerry Wayne Longmire at Punch Line Houston – Known for his viral series “Truck Astrology” and “Shoptalk” and his podcast The Reckon Yard, Longmire will bring his playful, relatable brand of storytelling and signature twang reminiscent of an East Texas junkyard to Downtown for 1 night only. 7:30pm.

Ha*Ash in Concert at Smart Financial Centre – The Latin pop duo from Lake Charles, Louisiana, comprised of sisters Hanna Nicole and Ashley Grace are known for hits like “Lo Aprendi de Ti”, “Ex de Verde”, and “Te Dejo en Libertad.” $50 and up. 8pm.

Emo Night Brooklyn at White Oak Music Hall – The touring late night DJ-based dance party blasts emo and pop punk jams upstairs at WOMH. $20. 9pm.

Valentino Khan DJ Set at Stereo Live – The L.A.-based DJ, known for releasing material through Diplo, Skrillex and Steve Aoki, takes to the decks in West Houston. $19.99. 10pm to 2am.

Operation Turkey at St. Paul’s Methodist Church | FREE with RSVP – Start Thanksgiving by helping assemble and distribute 3,125 meals to your neighbors around Houston. You’ll meet in Midtown, where you can assist with meal assembly, or get an address and bring a meal to someone in need. 6am to noon. 

Houston Turkey Dash in Cypress – Bring family and friends of all ages out a morning of walking and running. Participate in a Kids K, one-miles walk or fun, 5K, 10K, even a half marathon. $30 and up. 7am.

Houston Turkey Trot at The Galleria – Join in the long-running Uptown Houston tradition and race or walk in a 10K, 5K, or Kids Run for ages 12 and under. $50 and up; $40 for Kids Run. 7:30am.

The Turkey Trot in Downtown Houston – Begin your morning with this event presented by St. Arnold Brewing Co. The 5K, 10K and 1-mile routes take walkers and runners of all ages through Downtown. Expect giveaways, prizes and other fun. $35 and up. 7:30am.

YMCA Run Thru the Woods in The Woodlands – Kick of Thanksgiving with this fun run supporting nonprofits in The Woodlands, Spring and Oak Ridge.Walkers and runners of all abilities can take part in a 3-mile run, 5-mile run, 3-mile walk or 1-mile Kids Race. Strollers welcome. $50 and up. 7:30am. 

39th Annual Sugar Land Turkey Trot – Burn off the calories before you eat the big meal along this course in the Sugar Creek neighborhood. There’s a 1-mile kids run, a 5-mile timed race and a 2.8-mile family walk or jog. $25 and up. 7:45am.

9th Annual Free Turkey Trot 5K/10K at the Eastern Glades – Grab family and friends and come out to Memorial Park to begin Thanksgiving Day with a fun run. Expect friendly runners, handmade Turkey Day costumes on a first come, first served basis, and refreshments afterward. Registration required. 8am.

75th Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade in Downtown | FREE – Get into the holiday spirit at the 75th Annual Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade, a showcase of sensational floats, high-flying balloons, marching bands, artistic entries, and live entertainment marching through the streets of Downtown. 9am to 11am.

Thanksgiving Brunch at the San Luis Resort – Head to Galveston for this incredible buffet offering, with Champagne, live music and a decadent feast. You’ll find a carving station, breakfast favorites, sides and a host of desserts. It’s a perfect way to spend time with family and friends. $119 and up; kids $39 and up. 11am to 2pm.

Thanksgiving Dinners Around Greater Houston | Dine In & To Go – Spare your kitchen, dining room, and dishwasher and head out for a traditional, or innovative take on turkey and stuffing. Many restaurants are offering options to go, but have cut off dates to place your order. Times vary.

Thanksgiving at Kemah Boardwalk | FREE – Skip the usual routine and head to Kemah Boardwalk for an afternoon of thrilling rides, delicious food, and scenic waterfront views. Free to attend, but ride passes and food vary in price. 10am to 6pm.

85th Anniversary at River Oaks Theatre | $8.50 Movie Tickets – The beloved, newly restored and reopened movie house on West Gray turns 85 today and is celebrating with a special ticket price to this month’s blockbusters movies Wicked and Gladiator II, plus Anora and the Steve Martin classic Planes, Trains & Automobiles. All shows $8.50. Showings from 11:15am to 10pm.

Tea on the Terrace at Hotel ZaZa Memorial City – Enjoy a tasty three-course meal consisting of delicious small plates of crispy calamari and savory brussels sprouts, filling salads like the Green Goddess Bowl, perfect petite sweets and refreshing iced teas. Menu prices vary. 11am to 3pm.

Houston Holiday Market: November at True Anomaly Brewing Company | FREE – The award-winning craft brewery in East Downtown hosts a holiday market with live performances, decor ideas, and a vendor village. Noon to 5pm.

Candlelight Concert: Vivaldi’s Four Seasons & More at Majestic Metro – Take in all four seasons of Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto in G Minor, along with other familiar classic pieces, like Piazzolla’s Libertango, by candlelight in the Downtown venue. Future dates available. $53.20. 6:30pm.

The Full Moon Band with Shake Russell in Concert at McGonigel’s Mucky Duck – The band reunites, joined by founding member Shake Russell, in a show marking the debut release of the reunion album, Montrose Diner, featuring fan favorites of the past. $40 and up. 7pm.

Author Amanda Jones at Village Books | FREE with RSVP – The activist, librarian and author of That Librarian: The Fight Against Book Banning in America comes to The Woodlands to talk about what happened when she spoke out against banning books about minority groups in a public hearing. RSVP required. 7pm.

Silent Night Disco at Market Square Park | FREE – Slip on a pair of glowing headphones and choose from multiple DJ-curated playlists featuring holiday classics, upbeat hits, and wintery vibes at this weekly family-friendly holiday season pop-up. 7pm to 9pm.

The Suffers in Concert at Axelrad Beer Garden | FREE H-Town’s own gulf coastal soul group—headlined by Kam Franklin and known for their ’70s R&B, disco, jazz, and contemporary gospel—performs a free show in Midtown’s unofficial backyard. Get there early for a good spot. 8pm.

Midland in Concert at 713 Music Hall – The country band that formed in Dripping Springs, just outside of Austin, known for “Drinkin’ Problem,” “Mr. Lonely,” and “Cheatin’ Songs,” brings their Get Lucky tour to Downtown Houston. Rock band The Wilder Blue and country artist Hudson Westbrook open. $42 and up. 8pm.

King Raam in Concert at the Continental Club – The Iranian/Canadian musician, writer and podcast host, and founder of Hypernova post punk band, brings his Iran So Far Away tour to the Midtown venue. Miranda and the Beat Duo open. $35 and up. 8pm.

Anything Box in Concert at Henke & Pillot – The electronic, synth-pop outfit out of southern Cali, known for songs like “Living in Oblivion,” drops by the club on HIstoric Market Square for an evening of melodic dance beats and fusion of electronics and guitars. $30 and up. 8pm.

Walt Wilkins & Austin Mayse in Concert at the Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe – The legendary Galveston venue hosts a live performance by the two Texas singer-songwriters. Wilkins has been singing and touring for 25 years and his newest album Pedernales is streaming now. Mayse is from Austin and known for songs like “Wretch Like Me,” “Rattlesnake,” and “Sober Light.” $30. 8:30pm.

Candlelight Concert: The Best of Hans Zimmer at Majestic Metro – The Listeso String Quartet performs Zimmer’s classic movie soundtracks on strings. Expect arrangements from The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Wonder Woman, Gladiator, Dunkirk, and more by the glow of candlelight. Future dates available. $45.20. 8:30pm.

Hot to Go: The Chappell Roan Party at White Oak Music Hall Arrive dressed to impress and express your truest self in this upstairs all-night party made for dancing. You’ll snap and clap and feel like it’s 199 degrees. $20. 9pm.

Broadway Rave: A Musical Theater Dance Party at White Oak Music Hall – Musical theater nerds, drama geeks, and theater lovers are invited to dance and sing along downstairs to the best in show tunes and Broadway hits, all while dressed up as favorite characters from stage and screen. $20. 9pm.

American Pie Emo Night at Scout Bar – The Clear Lake music bar hosts an evening of live bands and emo riffs, with tunes from Blink 182, Green Day, Yellow Card and more. $18 and up. 9pm.

Candlelight Concert: ’90s Unplugged at Lone Star Flight Museum – Travel back to the 1990s by candlelight when the Listeso String Quartet performs a program of flashback tracks including Foo Fighters’ “Everlong,” No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak,” and The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” Future dates available. $36.80 and up. 9:15pm.
