  • Don’t Call Me Sweetie: 7th Annual Women’s Art Showcase at Hardy & Nance Studios | Friday, May 10 | FREE – This 7th annual showcase brings together dozens of women artists for a wide-ranging exhibition. Complimentary beverages will be on hand from City Orchard, Bad Astronaut, Equal Parts and Eureka Heights, as well as wine and batched cocktails. 7pm to 11pm.
  • Mother’s Day Serenade at Hobby Center for the Performing Arts | Friday, May 10 – The Houston Latin American Philharmonic returns with its annual concert performing a Mother’s Day program of Spanish-language songs like “El Milagro de tus Ojos,” “Caballo Viejo,” and “Nave del Olvido,” joined by special guests. $33.40 and up. 8pm.
  • Houston Ballet presents A Night of Celebration at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday, May 10 & Saturday, May 11 | FREE – The internationally acclaimed company of dancers takes the stage, showcasing incredible athleticism and artistry from some of our most beloved ballets over the last 20 years. It’s a program sure to delight ballet newcomers and devotees alike. 8pm.
  • Houston Plant Market at Houston Botanic Garden | Saturday, May 11 – Stop by the sprawling South Houston gardens for a pre-Mother’s Day plant market, featuring an array of vendors selling plants, crafts, art and food. Until noon, you can also learn how to build beautiful bouquets alongside a brunch of pastries and mimosas (separate cost of $65). Admission to the market is included with garden ticket; $15; $10 for ages 3 to 15. 10am to 3pm.
  • Wellness Series: Meditation at the Pavilion at Asia Society Texas Center | Saturday, May 11 | FREE – This outdoor meditation session takes place at Asia Society’s Heat Silhouette installation. Led by Dr. Anne Friedman, participants are guided through a session of mindfulness and relaxation. Free; RSVP requested. 11am.
  • Mother’s Day Market at Heights Mercantile | Saturday, May 11 | FREE – Still need the perfect gift, but running out of ideas? Shop to your heart’s delight with a huge variety of vendors offering unique products at this annual all-day market. 11am to 6pm.
  • Mother’s Day Vendor Fair at Pearland Town Center | Saturday, May 11 | FREE – More than 40 vendors will set up in Pearland for last-minute gift shopping ahead of Mother’s Day on Sunday. Enjoy live performances, games and more while you shop. 11am to 6pm.

  • Mother’s Day Tea at George Ranch Historical Park | Saturday, May 11 – Put on your best duds—including ascots and fascinators—for this Victorian event with fashion, etiquette and literature accompanied by traditional tea and cakes. $25; $15for ages 5 to 18; free for ages 4 and under. Seating at 11am and 2:30pm. 
  • Mother’s Day Vibe Market at Sugar Land Town Square | Saturday, May 11 | FREE – Stroll more than 85 artists, creatives and makers at this art-centric event where you’ll find handmade and handcrafted items for that special gift for mom. Noon to 5pm.
  • Mother’s Day Loteria & Chancla Chucking Contest at Eureka Heights Brew Co. | Saturday, May 11 | FREE – The Heights brewery hosts rounds of lotería in the taproom, with a halftime contest to see who can chuck their chancla the furthest. 1pm.
  • Pressed Flower Cards at Houston Botanic Garden | Saturday, May 11 – Held after the morning’s plant market, this special workshop will show you how to use pre-pressed flowers to craft a beautiful card just in time for Mother’s Day. $45. 3pm to 5pm.
  • Mother’s Day Weekend with Shop Local Market at Houston Farmers Market | Saturday, May 11 & Sunday, May 12 | No Cover – The Heights marketplace hosts a two-day market offering a chance to shop unique gifts like artisan treasures, local art, fresh flowers, plants, jewelry and more, just in time for Mother’s Day. Black Swan Yoga will be on-site at 9am Sunday morning for a free yoga sesison. 10am to 5pm.
  • Mother’s Day Weekend at Bayou Bend Collection & Gardens | Saturday, May 11 & Sunday, May 12 – Bayou Bend in River Oaks celebrates Mother’s Day Weekend, giving moms the chance to be surrounded by the beauty of nature while enjoying art, music and more. There will be live music by harpists Hope Cowan and Caitlin Mehrtens, and complimentary cookies, lemonade, and water. $12.50; free for moms and ages 12 and under. 1pm to 5pm.

  • Mother’s Day Brunch at Little Hen – Stroll through the River Oaks District before landing at this meticulously decorated wonderland to enjoy all the best of brunch dishes from the prix fixe menu, including mimosas, drip coffee and cocktails. $65. 9am.
  • Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch at the 1880 Garten Verein – Discover the wonder of the gorgeous 1880 Garten Verein where you can dine on an illustrious brunch menu alongside live music and with a special gift for moms. An optional ticket add-on will also give you access to the 50th annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour, which closes on Sunday. $90 and up. 10am to noon.
  • Mother’s Day Walk at Houston Botanic Garden – Make memories at this special nature and nurture walk for Mother’s Day. The focus at this event will be for families to unwind, be inspired and connect while enjoying the outdoors with captivating art installations, complimentary wellness treatments, and more. $25 and up; $15 and up for ages 4 to 17; free for ages 3 and under. 10am to 2pm.
  • Free Rooftop Pilates Class at Post Houston | FREE – Head to the Skylawn for a morning pilates class with a view at Post Houston. Syncd Pilates will take you through a 50-minute, full-body mat pilates session, open to all levels and experience. Bring a mat, towel and water bottle. 11am.
  • Mother’s Day Brunch at Tony’s – Dine in one of Houston’s iconic restaurants with a fabulous three-course prix fixe menu, including options such as caviar and spritz, so you can maintain your status as the favorite. $80; $30 for ages 12 and under. 11am to 3pm.
  • Mother’s Day Brunch at the Eldorado Ballroom – Lucille’s offers up a delicious brunch spread for Mother’s Day at the historic Third Ward ballroom. Enjoy tastes of waffles, fried chicken, shrimp creole, grits, eggs, and more. Moms receive a complimentary mimosa. $55 per person. Noon to 3pm.
