- Labor Day Weekend Events Around Houston | Thursday, September 1 to Monday, September 5 – Spend your long weekend at the Labor Day Rosé Party at Brasserie 19, singing at the Drake Concert, sipping on a cold one at the BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival in Galveston and more.
- Brewmasters Craft Beer Festival at Moody Gardens | Friday, September 2 to Sunday, September 4 – Head to Galveston to see what’s on tap for the 7th Annual BrewMasters Craft Beer Festival. The three-day event features a brew-b-que, pub crawl, brewery tours, tequila tasting, and brewmaster beard competition.
- UH vs. OU Advocare Texas Kickoff at NRG Stadium | Saturday, September 3 – Arrive early to tailgate and then scream for the University of Houston cougars as they take on the Sooners at NRG to kick off the season.
- Drake in Concert at Toyota Center | Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4 – Dance all night to music from Drake’s latest album Views when he performs live at Toyota Center with Future. You’ll have two dates to choose from as his Summer Sixteen Tour will have back-to-back shows in Houston.
- Houston Texans vs Chicago Bears at NRG Stadium | Sunday, September 11 – Watch the Houston Texans kick off their season with a noon game against the Bears on home turf.
- The Great Banh Mi Cook-Off at Anheuser Busch | Wednesday, September 14 – Gather at Anheuser Busch for a battle to see which Houston chef can make the best banh mi. Guests will enjoy samples, entertainment from dance groups and musicians, and will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite banh mi.
- Picasso: The Line Opening Reception at the Menil Collection | Thursday, September 15 | FREE – Mark your calendars for this exhibition opening which features nearly 100 works from Pablo Picasso – all drawings created with mediums that range from pen to charcoal to collage – at the Menil.
- Rice Owls vs. Baylor Bears at Rice Stadium | Friday, September 16 – Rice University will take the turf to play Baylor during their first home game of the season.

Head to one of Houston’s many Oktoberfest celebrations to raise a glass and nosh Bavarian fare. - Met Dance Season Kick Off at Discovery Green | Friday, September 23 | FREE – Celebrate the start of Met Dance’s 21st season at Discovery Green with this free performance that features a collaboration between dancers from Houston and New York.
- The Woodlands BBQ Festival at Town Green Park | Sunday, September 25 – Get your fill of fall-off-the-bone meat smoked by Texas pitmasters during this BBQ festival in The Woodlands. Guests will enjoy live tunes, beer, and lots of finger lickin’ barbecue.
- Texas Contemporary Art Fair at George R. Brown Convention Center | Starts Thursday, September 29 – Galleries from across the country will bring their finest contemporary art to Houston for this annual fair. The event will also feature a curated selection of works from Mexico City. Times vary.
- Grand Opening of Smither Park | Friday, September 30 – Be one of the first to visit Houston’s first folk art-inspired green spaces when the completed Smither Park opens to the public with a grand opening celebration featuring live music, performance art, food, and drinks. The park was influenced by nearly 300 artists and features an amphitheater, pavilion, meditation garden, and a 400-foot memory wall.
