May the 4th be with You: Star Wars Day Events Around Greater H-Town

Get out and show your love for Star Wars at celebrations, trivia nights, and more across the greater Space City on Saturday, May 4, 2024. 

Once just a punny turn of phrase, May Fourth has become the unofficially official holiday for fans of the Star Wars saga, thanks to one tongue-in-cheek line, “May the fourth be with you.”

Star Wars Day 2024 Events Around Houston

• Star Wars Trivia at Houston Toy Museum | Thursday, May 2 – The Force will be with you and your friends as you gather to show off your knowledge about all things Star Wars. From droids to plotlines, characters and more, this is an opportunity to enjoy an evening with fellow Star Wars fans. Tickets include admission to the museum. $10. 7pm.
• May the 3rd Be With You Art Show at Bad Astronaut Brewing | Friday, May 3 | No Cover – Celebrate a day early with an art show at the Northside brewery. Dress up as your favorite—or most hated—Star Wars character and take in graffiti work by DeckWGF and Dizkust alongside Bad Astronaut’s craft brew lineup. 6pm to 11pm.
• Houston Astros vs. Seattle Mariners at Minute Maid Park | Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5 – Star Wars Weekend arrives at the ballpark when the Astros take on division rivals from Seattle. All weekend long, you can take advantage of promotional giveaways like a Kyle Tucker Space City jersey, an Alex Bregman bobblehead, and a mesh tote bag, plus the concourse will be roaming with characters from the beloved franchise. $37 and up. • May the 4th Be With You, Star Wars LEGO Brick Art Pop-Up at Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts | FREE – The Spring gallery hosts a special pop-up with LEGO brick art displays inspired by the Star Wars universe. Come by to see the work of Houston Brick Club, and stay for some ice cream and your own block building fun. 10am to 2pm.
• May The 4th Be Woof You Adoption Event at Pasadena Animal Shelter – Find the next Chewy for your home at this special adoption event in Pasadena, where you can check out foster and shelter animals, and take one home for a $5 adoption fee. 11am to 4pm.
• May the 4th Be With You Vendor Market at Saloon Door West | FREE – The Pearland outpost of inventive brewery Saloon Door brings together a wide assortment of local vendors for a Star Wars celebration, complete with themed activities and games, snacks, and a costume contest for prizes. Noon to 6pm.
• May the 4th Be With You & Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Railean Distillery | No Cover – The San Leon distillery and tasting room on the shores of Galveston Bay celebrates Star Wars day and Cinco de Mayo with Yoda margaritas and special cocktails, mariachi and trilogy music and more. Costumes welcome. Noon to 8:30pm.
• Star Wars Kentucky Derby at Dan Electro’s | FREE – The Heights guitar bar merges celebrations for a day that kicks off with Derby and Darth Vader trivia, two costume contests and live crawfish. Plus, you can sip on mint juleps or the Mos Cantina Margarita, catch the Derby races, and a post-event concert with Nick Gaitan. 2pm to 5pm.
• Thorn & Moon’s Good Vibes Mystical Market: Star Wars Edition at Bad Astronaut Brewing | FREE – In Northside, this recurring all-ages market hosts a special Star Wars edition with all the familiar mystical and magickal vendors, along with a space-themed costume contest for prizes. 6pm to 11pm.
• Star Wars: A New Hope Movie Screening at Rooftop Cinema Club Uptown – Celebrate Star Wars day with an outdoor screening of the O.G. 1977 film about Luke Skywalker and rebel alliance forces taking on Darth Vader and the Death Star. The Empire Strikes Back will also screen later that night at 10pm, and you can return on Sunday night for a screening of Revenge of the Sith. Along with the screening, enjoy a night of trivia, photo ops and a costume contest. $35. 7:15pm.
• May the Fourth Star Wars Trivia Night at City Orchard | FREE – Summon the force for a special trivia night at the Arts District cidery that will test your knowledge of all things from a galaxy far, far away. 7pm to 10pm.
• Houston Dynamo FC vs. St Louis at Shell Energy Stadium – It’s Star Wars night at the Dynamo pitch and you can see them take on St. Louis alongside appearances by beloved Star Wars characters, plus post match fireworks. $21 and up. 7:30pm.
• May the Fourth Be With You Star Wars Party at Palapa Bar Kemah | No Cover – The longtime Kemah bar celebrates Star Wars Day with a lightsaber meet-up, live music, themed cocktails and shots, plus glow sticks and other giveaways. 8pm to 2am.
