Visit Houston’s first folk art-inspired green spaces at the Grand Opening of Smither Park on Friday, September 30, 2016.

The completed Smither Park opens to the public with a grand opening celebration featuring live music by local favorite Los Skarnales, performance art throughout the park, and food and drinks provided by area restaurants.

Located in Houston’s historic East End, the park was influenced by nearly 300 artists and features an amphitheater, pavilion, meditation garden, and a 400-foot memory wall.

Built over the past six years in a space adjacent to The Orange Show, Smither Park is dedicated to the lives of John and Stephanie Smither, long-time folk art collectors and celebrated arts patrons.
