Shepherd School Opera: Handel’s Alcina at Brockman Hall for Opera

    Shepherd School Opera presents 2 performances of Handel’s Alcina in the Morrison Theater at Brockman Hall for Opera on the Rice campus.

    Alcina is a beautiful and powerful sorceress with a penchant for luring men to her enchanted island, seducing them, and turning them into rocks and wild animals when she tires of the relationship—until the dashing knight Ruggiero comes along and sparks true love.

    Sung in Italian with English surtitles.

    Alcina ticket holders are invited to Tudor Patrons’ Lounge one hour before each performance for a look into the opera with conductor Louis Lohraseb.
